I really love the take on characterization and magicks (gotta love how they spell it with a 'k') in this story. The idea that Ffamran could possibly have been a mage with a pointy hat is ... inordinately amusing to me XD Ah well.

I love it! You captured everyone so well, and so poetically too. It's beautiful. I'd never precisely thought of Balthier this way, but I think it's fitting.

Writing Balthier one of your many, wonderous gifts in the land of fiction. Do continue with using it to the fullest, finest extent. :)

its not bad. You've been writing many stories, plus great with the english language, so your skills are good, however, the only thing I have a problem with this fic is that how is magic only for the poor? In Old Archadia are not the poor without magic?
There are other issues but it is neither here or there.

And here I have an idea for Balthier's lack of magic (never used him for magic in my XII file).

The writing is amazing, very clear but the depictions of working magicks and the other members' ways of doing so was great to read.
