Dimac99 2009-10-14 . chapter 2Lol - love the team tag at the end and the way Sam has to acknowledge that she's the real issue here, not McKay. She's the newbie and he's grown a lot in the previous 5ish years or so, so this was kind of a character growth moment for her. She realises she needs to take a step back and let other people who know their own jobs to do those jobs, instead of arrogantly assuming, McKay-style(!) that she's the only one who can be right.
I also loved McKay's jail scene - not for the fact he was in jail lol, but his distress over his team's predicament was very believable and real.
Fantastic work. |
Ppleater 2009-01-20 . chapter 2Hahahaha this is awesome. I would have liked it if this was in the show XD |
mandy 2008-10-27 . chapter 2 Loved this story! Very realistic about how Sam has to get used to relying on other scientists, especially Rodney. Also liked the end where Sam and Rodney team up against Sheppard and the others after they make fun of Rodney. |
LadyJane08 2008-05-11 . chapter 2Brilliant story! Loved the way that Radek et al. all knew Rodney's code, nice touch. |
Isobel Kelte 2008-05-06 . chapter 2I admit that I've only watched a few episodes of SG-1, but that didn't hinder my appreciation for this story and how well it portrayed the awkwardness of Carter's new position. The theme was carried out expertly and the dialogue was so good that I could almost hear the characters saying the lines. And that last scene was classic--I love how the team would always revert to teasing after some huge dramatic moment. |
MBB 2008-01-22 . chapter 2Over all, a very good fic; you can clearly see the Atlantian teamwork and Rodney's desperation, but at the same time understand Carters motivations for her behaviour.
This second half was just beautifull. It showed Carters capabilities to work aside them, and her chemistry with Rodney, both things I've found sadly missing from the 4th season.
And a hilarious end. :-)
QUOTE[Carter: "Oh for the love of Pete."]
Nice how you worked in that Carter still loves her fiancee :-).
I too hate how they ended Sam/Pete.
(although my own ship is Carter/mcKay) |
MBB 2008-01-22 . chapter 1Very exiting story so far.
And Carter ordering McKay to build the self-disctruct that will kill his friends must feel to him like revenche for when he did not believe Tealc could be saved.
OT: Fic idea about them trusting Carter that you mentioned; Perhaps you could do another fic from Zalenka's point of view, where he hears McKay was transferred to Russia after his failure in 48 Hours, and have him flashback to fears about Siberia while his nation was under Communist rule. |
Liana-Wolfe 2008-01-15 . chapter 2Oh my god the ending made me laugh so much! I love it. |
MarbleGlove 2007-11-10 . chapter 2Ooh. Command positions are really, really hard pretty much regardless, add to that anyone replacing Dr. Weir and Carter in particular in command of McKay just makes it all the more difficult. You did an excellent job of showing the tension from Carter's side, but I loved most of all the sense of community you showed the scientists having. And the end was hilarious. Thanks for posting. |
Tringa 2007-11-02 . chapter 2Oh wow - how did I miss this one? This is so awesome! I loved it - you were right on with everything. I hope they do something like this on the show this year - Awesome awesome story. I'm going to bookmark it to come back to if the show disappoints me. |
 szhismine 2007-10-29 . chapter 2good fic! really good. :-D |
rlolo 2007-10-28 . chapter 2 such a grweat story please abither ine li ke this |
 Shathar 2007-10-28 . chapter 2LOL
I just found this story and i love it! |
Era Yachi 2007-10-15 . chapter 2Ah, I never tire of your stories. That in itself is not a review, of course. I have yet to review the story...but nevertheless, I admit that I keep half-expecting you to fail me every time I read a new story of yours. I've lost track of how many I've read, but you haven't failed me yet. Still as captivating and still as wondrously creative as ever.
I will admit, my first impression was that it would end with McKay doing something selfishly reckless, which would have been accurate for his character to a degree, although somewhat disappointing (because we're bottle-fed so much of it in the actual show). But then I was delighted to see some of that 'hero McKay' shine through. This is definitely the direction I see him going, and you depicted it very well. Also: Carter's reaction. We'll be seeing a lot of her in future SGA fanfiction, but by far I believe this will be amidst her very best debuts. :) Maybe even amidst the best overall.
Very satisfying ending, too. Despite a tough day, it made me grin. Glad it all worked out the way I hope it would. |
Rowana Farrin 2007-10-14 . chapter 2Awesome fic! It's nice to see Sam and McKay interacting on a more serious level, and having him thrown in the brig was a nice twist. Love the ending dialogue! Thanks so much for the fun story! |
