I do keep coming back to this wonderfull gem of a story. *smile* poor Imrahil, to have such a daughter on his hands must be a Fathers nightmare. But I love it...

A friend suggested I read your stories - glad I did.

I love the idea of Lothy reminding Denethor of Findulas - and have mentioned it myself on occasions.

I also like your reference to Boromir being the favourite because he was like his mother.

I find the idea of Imrahil having visions very real.

Altogether an excellent story- Must now seek out more of your completed

oh - Ilikeitilikeitilikeit

Thats just the way to handle grumpy and sad old men, Lothiriel! And a soft spot in the oh-so stern Denetors armor as well. ;)

Well written ficlet.

Thanks,

It's awful that this doesn't have more than 100 positive reviews. I enjoyed this story very well. Especially the interaction between Boromir and Lothiriel. I could just picture a towering Boromir bending close to his cousin's delicate height and teasing her. I know the main theme was of Denethor and Lothiriel which was just as beautiful. The cold hearted Denethor turned by his beautiful niece. How you wrote this story was just wonderful. It had me laughing and given me a new perspective of Denethor. Brava!

What a treat to find a story where Denethor is not only not evil, but where he's actually witty and companionable. And all it really took was a cup of tea! :)

Your work is absolutely amazing. I first started reading your stories about four years ago when Captain My Captain hadn't been completed. I don't believe I left a review, humbled as I was - I don't think I can word praise that adequately reflects how wonderful your ideas are! Lord of the Rings was the first fandom to draw me into and it was by chance that I first found Captain My Captain. In fact, it was because I was looking for a Faramir fic (there were so few at the time...) that wasn't Eowyn/Faramir (and we all know that these were virtually non-existent at the time!). Since then, I still have not any author that rivals your characterization of Faramir, Imrahil, Lothiriel, and even Denethor. I do not like Denethor's character and I admit that it was rather satisfying to read work that put him in his place. However, this piece really spun the image on its heels. I've never read anything from Denethor's POV (not that there's much of that around either), and this was definitely something fresh that I found quite pleasing. It's fluffy and cute and it makes a reader giggle at the end. The way you've written Lothiriel is excellent - she's intelligent, witty, and quite the image of her father! Which reminds me of the other pieces you've written on Imrahil's youth. What is there to say - they're so well-thought out! Your plot is amazing. I hope you will update them soon! Actually, it was quite a shock to read Andrahar at first - I didn't like him at all after Captain My Captain, but after you elaborated on his precise relationship with Imrahil, he is most definitely one of my favourite characters. So much to say about you and your writing, I don't think I could fit it all in a review! But I would definitely like you to know that your writing has most definitely changed the way I look at characters in Lord of the Rings, and I might even add that it's changed the way I look at people in general. There's a preciseness in your description of things - they are things that we don't notice anymore. That is, when you point out the calluses on Faramir's hand and how they catch in Hethlin's hair, it's just something that few authors would have considered and that brings the whole of your universe alive. I would really hope that you continue to post up new chapters or new stories, they really are quite a treat! Brava! :)

Great job! I enjoyed it very much! I love how you made Lothiriel so happy and strong! And we got to see a side of Denathor that I like! Bravo!

Aw! Very sweet. I love 'Thiri's archness, and the reluctant cheering of Denethor. Very well done.

Great story, but I can't imagine Denethor with a teacup. I think, the Gondorians didn't know tea and especially teacups. This is a bit too modern for me. Apart from that, the story is lovely.

This was lovely! Just the right amount of spit and fire from Denethor here, and Lothiriel worms her way delightfully into the reader's heart, as well as his.
Jack's Lantern 10/4/07 . chapter 1
Not to sound stupid(maybe that's unavoidable) but who was Imrahil thinking of? The only thing I could think of was Arwen, was I right?
