"Seven year old Cory and seven year old Shawn ran around Cory’s room chasing imaginary aliens. They shot their toy guns at the imaginary aliens." Two phrases, "seven year old" and "imaginary aliens" are being repeated. This could be rephrased into something like, "Cory and Shawn, both seven years old, ran around Cory's room chasing imaginary aliens. They made little hissing sounds as they pretended to fire upon the bloated, green creatures that had come to take over Earth." You know, add some detail. Also, Cory's dad's name is spelled "Alan". |
