beyondthecrystalsea 2008-11-10 . chapter 5I just finally got a chance to read this story. Wow, it's excellent. I'm really enjoying it. Crystal |
Anise 2008-09-18 . chapter 5 You're alive!! *glompsu* It's nice to see you writing and updating again :) I'm sorry it took me so long to review but I had no idea that you were back and RL has been conspiring to eat away at my time *sighs*
I loved the history that you've given Kakashi it was nice to see such a wonderful and loving life that his family had-of course that makes it all the more tragic after the events that just happened. The concern that Minato had about taking responsibility for Kakashi was very insightful, so often in stories there doesn't seem to be much thought about how it may affect Kakashi to be placed with Minato. This seems like a realistic worry to have and Minato obviously cares very much for Kakashi to want to make sure that he does the right thing for him. It was such a wonderfully emotional chapter, I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes from here.
I've also noticed the other stuff that you've written and while I would love to say that I will read and review this weekend, with life the way it is right now there's no guarantee of that. People are showing up for the weekend on friday and then next week the baby niece has to go into the hospital, so while I really want to read the rest of your stuff it may have to take a backseat for awhile. It kills me to say that because I'm always looking forward to new stuff from the TI universe. I hope everything is going well for you and that we'll continue to see more updates from you :) |
ichkak 2008-08-24 . chapter 5This is yes sad, but isn't that what makes Kakashi what he is? Very well written and i am suprised you only have a few reviewers. You definatly should have more!
Thanks for sharing so far. |
Rose 2008-08-24 . chapter 5 This story was so sad. I loved this chapter. I really like how you've mentioned the past life of Sakumo. My favourite bit was when Tsunade gave both Jiraiya and Sakumo black eyes cause they were so drunk. It's so sweet that Minato cares so much about Kakashi. Lovely chapter and I hope you update soon. |
Anise 2008-06-22 . chapter 4 Nice to see a new update from you ^_^ I'm just sorry that it took me so long to get around to reading this and reviewing, the last couple of months have been beyond hectic. Actually I went back and skimmed through just to refresh my memory of what had happened and it reminded me of just how well you have been portraying the emotions of all of the people involved. I loved Minato in this last chapter and how we're starting to get to see some of the things that would have made him a great leader :) Another wonderful chapter, I can't wait for you to update again! |
LindyStar 2007-10-22 . chapter 1Wow, this is really fucking depressing. Good job of it, though. I love the poem. That was amazingly well done. And how Kakashi, while a genius still possesses the child's logic in that he will think he killed his father! No wonder Kakashi is so fucked up and emotionally crippled in the manga/anime. |
MikaSamu 2007-10-19 . chapter 3I had feared from your very well done foreshadowing that Kakashi might have played that role, but had hoped otherwise. Even knowing the honor and trust conveyed to the person in that role (although in this case unrequested), it must be difficult for Kakashi, particularly as he is so young. At least Sakumo had an opportunity to say farewell, and to express his love for and pride in Kakashi -- I hope Kakashi will be able to remember that as well. I am happy as well that Kakashi has Minato as well as the Sandaime to care for him. Although Sakumo appears to have tried, in part at least for Kakashi's sake, to restore his honor, I wonder if a shinobi village (as compared to samurai) in that time of war will uniformally be able to see it that way. As always, beautifully done. |
Anise 2007-10-19 . chapter 3 This kind of makes you want to shake the adults and ask what the heck they think they're doing to their children, although it was nice you showed that they had doubt and uncertainty about what was happening and if it really is for the best in the long run. It makes you want to cry to see this poor little kid who just helped his dad commit suicide and now he's giving a report like a little soldier, especially when you wonder if an adult would even be able to do that, it's all just too heartbreaking. It's another wonderfully written chapter and as always I look forward to more!
I read your notes before reading the chapter and I have to say that I really liked getting some background about all of the details. I have to admit I debated about sending an email or leaving a review because really you could leave a whole paragraph of thoughts on your notes alone! But who doesn't like getting a review added to there story ;) |
MikaSamu 2007-10-14 . chapter 2Beautiful, but sad. In the aftermath of the tragedy, however, you show warmth, caring and love surrounding Kakashi, and that makes this story particularly wonderful. The touch of humor with the medic, Minato's shoulder, and the failings of a whole line of teachers makes an excellent soft counterpoint that adds rather than detracts from the whole. The renga is absolutely perfect. |
teenagersscareme 2007-10-13 . chapter 1 good story! but i have a question, what happened to Kakashi?
and are you going to write more chapters? |
Anise 2007-10-11 . chapter 1 I think I read this a little while ago when I was lurking about your lj but I had no idea that you were posting it here and what a sad start, poor Kakashi. The details were absolutely beautiful, it's always so nice to read a story where someone puts so much time and thought into all of the descriptions that make a story enjoyable to read. I hope there's going to be much more of Namikaze-sensei, I would love to read something where he's more in the role of sensei to a young kashi. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the history that you've come up with for Kakashi and look forward to the next chapter :) |
MikaSamu 2007-10-07 . chapter 1Beautiful telling of such a tragic moment. Your descriptions are so perfect you make us feel as if we were the ones walking to the Hatake home. I particularly appreciate your attention to the details of Sakumo's death from the white kimono, to the sake, persimmone and chestnuts, to the mulberry paper and brush. Describing the waterfall and happier times first made the contrasting suicide all the more painful, and the discovery of that small gray body coated in ice heartstopping. |
