Wow! This is just unbelievably awesome. I spent 4 hours reading this and it felt more like 40 minutes. You captured the characters perfectly and everything just flowed so that you didn't waste a single word.

Just...wow. I really have no idea what to say about this, because I just finished reading the fic in its entirety and it was wonderful.

What's missing from this chapter is any insight into how Jack feels over the death. The interaction between the characters is good, but Regan seems to switch directions really quickly. It feels like you're trying to get from one point to another and you miss a couple of steps ont he way. You might want to consider a rewrite to tone down Regan's initial unhappiness and give Jack some grief - after all, hasn't he been upset over this for the whole story?

This chapter might be a bit overwrought but I guess the circumstances demand it. Both Jack and Regan have been through an emotional wringer, and while she's struggling for self-control he ignores his feelings by picking a fight - classic Jack.

I loved this end! It wasn't a 'happy end' or a 'sad end', which it's great. I always loved when a story or a book ended up with the character doing something or thinking about something.

Now we see what the fast on is that McCoy plans to pull - no wonder Regan didn't think she could do it - Olivia's being smart enough to know something's wrong while Casey is taken in by her own hope is a good touch, as is the strength of the friendship between them. I'm not sure about Olivia's naivete at the tricks lawyers play - would she really think Jack went too far?

A touching scene showing Regan letting down her guard - or perhaps just overwhelmed - and McCoy responding. Perhaps he is a little too solicitous - but a nice touch that he disguises it with practicalities. You bring them together and push them apart time and again so far in this story - here you show them closer (at least, closer sober) than at any point so far. Nice touch that Jack thinks back to the night she dragged him out of that bar.

This is a well-written chapter, a nice blend of action and dialogue, believable reactions and responses from Regan, giving her a convincing way to solve a problem that relies on her quick thinking. I like the way you blend the things she knows from her past with her work for Jack to give her a strong inner 'voice'.

I knew Casey was going to be jealous! I would be too, after all.. is Jack McCoy! haha
Good to see Jack cares about Regan like she cares about him.

You just get better and better! Very powerful. I love that Anita was the one you chose to save Regan and the way all the cops rally around Regan is very believable.

You did a great job with both the evil villian and Regan as potenial victim.
