There is nothing I love more than well-written Jacob/Bella angst. Which is exactly what you have provided, so I thank you. :] Guh. I don't know whether or not to hate Edward for coming in and disrupting the hope of happiness and normalcy that Bella would have had. Of course, I can't hate Edward. No one can. It's impossible for any human being of the female persuasion. Honestly.
