I have read this story in its entirety, and Truethfully, in my opinion, you are the author of the GREATEST STORY I HAVE EVER READ ON ! This story is amazing in its originallity and inventiveness, and 'Helping Hand' is the story that really got me into fanfiction in general! beautiful work!

I've liked this story for quite some time now. It took me almost a whole day to search for it through the Hellsing archives-- that should say enough on its own.

The stubborn, if not violent devotion Walter shows towards Alucard, even beyond that of fellow 'humans', is remarkably suited to his character. As the actual story (with the exception of The Dawn) has ended, you can tell that this story hits their dynamic almost spot-on.

Absolutely brilliant.

whoa... i just spent a whole day reading this...
at first, i thought you were exagerating alucard's vulnerability, i mean, why would he stick around and be raped when he could just pass trough the wall and get out? but then again, it obwiously didn't really bother me, since i just couldn't stop myself reading. I didn't even stop to eat! It's really captivating and passionate, and the ending's damn sweet.

I like it so far. And no it definitley would NOT be cosidered gay romance. the fact that your are using faminine third person pronouns for alucard means that Alucard is female in this story. It is only mpreg whn the character getting pregnant is a GUY when the pregnancy occurs.

Wait. So Alucard is FEMALE in this right? Girlycard is his girl form. so technically it would not be considered yaoi.

The ending seemed...abrupt. Forced. In a nice, slick, bundled up manner. Walter's prompt and decisive ease with disposing of the baby was without the slightest of moral hesitation--it fit his character quite nicely, but I can't help but think that the whole pregnancy was too...tidily cleaned up. Certainly, Alucard's suffering built up to quite the climax, but it fell through pretty quickly after that. I do like Alucard's brief revelations on how she sees Walter, of the convoluted feelings of "muddled mix of adoration and hatred" she held for him at his stubborness to stay throughout the whole messy ordeal. Her words of thanks was also a nice touch, that plaintive admission that his presence/determination MEANT something to her.

The introduction to the final chapter was cute, too. In a morbid sort of way. Of how Walter was just beginning to realize his true ignorance in the matter, and how he wanted to tentatively hold her delicate hand in his...only to stop short at the potential hazards of having his hand crushed. Very cute tone right there.

Overall, pretty damn good fic. Nicely delivered and all that. Your usual fare, so I was pleased to read more delightful slices of your imagination. Invest more time in Girlycard! Gah, love her jaded/weary/caustic self in this fic...she's portrayed much more human and developed excellently than in actual canon. At that point in time, Alucard's too far ingrained in his role as Helsing's servant and is his lovely morbid self. The Alucard in this time period, though...still was adjusting to her servitude role. Her bitterness over Arthur's various orders regarding humans? And the hint that she was "bound" to this form BECAUSE of Arthur? Veery nice glimpses of what Alucard really would have been feeling only a mere forty years after his captivity. Too damn jaded nearing the 21st century. So yes, I was pleased that Alucard's attitude was pegged nicely while the writing was subtle about it. Walter was the delicious cherry on top that supplemented the niceties of Girlycard's complex situation. Yayness!

It's so sad that the baby couldn't live.

I do love your work and this is one of my favorites. Well done, again. I'm going to go read Jealousy now, which will probably be even better ^.~. You never disappoint, do you?

This was just good. The most satisfying ending which was possible for this story. I feel sorry for the baby, but like the part when Walter burns his body. I'm sorry too that sometimes I lost my faith in you during this story. You did it well.
