The end is sad, though, if you know how their story continues...

I like this, not only because I belong to those who find a good male singing voice saliva-provoking, but also because of the sadness of the story. Lily's reflection that Severus would probably take very good care not to sing had she told him how she liked his humming, is most likely very accurate. It's sad when a person does not appreciate the good things about themselves. And then there is the notion that if you mention something by its real name it will go away.

This is truly amazing. You are a brilliant writer. Snape just seems so... believable and true and innocent, especially at that age! And Lily... she's great, you did her wonderfully. It's not OOC at all!

I really enjoyed this! Ever since his chanted healing spell in Half-Blood Prince, I too have been secretly pleased by the thought that Snape probably has a nice singing voice. Glad to see I'm not alone! Thanks for sharing your story.
