This is so original and interesting! I love this story!

I have recently found your story and must say that it is very good! I see that it has been some time since your last update and wish to see how things play out. Thank you very much for giving me a great story so far. It has kept my interest and given me something to do while at work.

It's my favourite fic to date, and ugh *clutches chest* the Basch/Ashe storyline is just... indescribabley good.

Wow. This is an amazing piece of writing. You've got a faultless grip on the characters, especially Ashe who a lot of people don't understand as well.

So I was looking back through stories, and recalled this one. I am still left in suspense after months! Are you ok? Do you plan to continue the story?

This story is indeed quite good. I hope you do not intend to abandon it! I'm not sure if it's going to be a dark fic or not, but either way, I'd be really interested in knowing how it resolves!

Wow...I discovered your fanfic 3 days ago and have spent every spare moment, of which there aren't many, reading it. This is extremely enjoyable and I desperately hope you are able to finish. I'm unsure where to begin with my praise but I think it would be easiest for me to list the character and what I loved most.
Basch: This character changed FF for me. Like many I've been a fan for many many years of the genre, but for me Basch was my first FF crush. From the moment his character first spoke, Final Fantasy had a whole new meaning for me lol *blush*. What I read here was very believable for his character and you got many romantic sighs from my direction whenever he was involved. I want so desperately for things to be okay with him in Ashe in the end. They have both suffered so much to have such a brief time of joy.
Ashe: I was not overly fond of her in game until I started reading her fanfics. I loved that you made her bitchy and you continued to show that side of her and her only saving grace was that you got to see the "real" her when she was with Basch. You did a remarkable job in conveying the weight and responsibility of royalty and leaders and you really helped me to understand a character that I mostly cast aside.
Balthier and Fran: The killing of Fran was genius. I have read few fanfics that wrote her well and although what you did write of their pairing was great, the death of a main character added so much dynamics to your story. I felt she was kind of the hidden "Hermione" of the group in game. The one who always had the answers. I never realized how much I'd miss her character until she was gone. As for Balthier...I'm dying to know what happened between them after he left with her. It is interesting to see him not so cool and composed.
Larsa: The perfect combination of capable and knowledgable ruler along with his insecurities of wooing his fair maid. He's so traditionally romantic its almost rediculous...and then you realize that he's serious. I find myself wondering what do you do with a heart like Larsa's and an empire at his disposal. The gardens were a nice touch.
Vaan: I was perhaps most pleased with his outcome. It was very believable how he had "matured". Of all the characters for some reason he seems the most real to me which came as a pleasant surprise since I don't think I've come across a single Vaan fic that I've really liked. I love his inner dialogue. It takes a very good and strong person to be able to value friendship above jealousy and to try and win Penelo over fairly. All in all though, I think he's one of those "don't want it until he can't have it" kind of guys. Or that's the impression that I get.
Penelo: This is the only character that annoyed me. Here is a girl who was orphaned and went on a fantastic journey to save Ivalice with the rest of them and she seems pretty damn useless except to make sure that Vaan isn't lonely. In my mind, Penelo was the very practical, down to earth kind of girl and to me she seemed very helpless and useless. I kept thinking, geez this girl must have been one HUGE liability while they were traveling across Ivalice facing fiends and going through mist infested dungeons. But oh well. The LarsaxPeneloxVaan triangle is still most enjoyable and I do very much want to see how that ends up. I'm a Larsa fan, but what can I say, I was very disappointed in George Lucas's rendition of a younger man falling for an older woman. When Aniken and Amidala met as adults it was just weird and awkward. The LarsaxPenelo story fills in a lot of gaps the George Lucas left with his failed attempts and his implications.
Overall I applaud you! This truly is Fantastic and I am SO happy I stumbled upon it. For now I must get some sleep...I stayed up all night to finish reading and I am anxiously awaiting your next installment.

so when you say that larsa looked different do you mean that he actulaay looked his own gender XD

Wow, Larsa and Balthier are being reasonable, though a bit heartless XD poor Penelo, hear them decide to kill Basch like if there was no other way :( perhaps there isn't but still... try to research. I like Penelo here :) and Vaan's support.

Speaking of which... “What's there to care about?” wow! That caught me! I expected Vaan to act all jealous for it, but no! XD Penelo is not the only one confused... I'm confused XD even Balthier is confused!

You know what's the worst part of killing characters? Is... I find myself missing Fran XD strange, isn't it? But on the other side, Mjrn's appearance and being the only survivor of Eruyt must have a purpose in the story, hmm?

Still, I miss Fran! :(

And now, my fav part... OH THAT SONG is so sad. Makes all the difference in reading this part. Wonderfully written, her suffering, her pain, her loss. I hoped you wrote more of it, though, because I was loving to read it.

Most woeful, heartbraking wail :( finally Ashe cries all of her out. Aw, sadness. I'm sad too :( and afraid of the next Basch's appearance to her, that will only add more to her sorrow. I wonder if he is, or will hear this cry of her? Surely heartbreaking... OH, THIS IS A WONDERFUL STORY. Update as soon as you can and good luck with everything else ;)

I was considering writing about my ultimate favorite couple Basch and Ashe and began looking online if such a thing existed. I only just discovered this site and your story a couple days ago... and... I have not slept all night! O.O I read the whole thing twice now! Hahaha! I wish I was here to comment along the way, but let me say this: BRAVO! Your characters are wonderfully developed and the story line is really superb. I can hardly stand it sometimes... the electricity between Basch and Ashe is so intense (and sexy DROOL)! The rest of the characters have pulled me in as well, and I find myself really caring about how this whole story will play out. Consider me a new fan!

I wanted review a whole bunch of the last chapters but couldn't stop reading. God, you sure know how write tragic pieces.

Sometimes, I wasn't sure I really wanted to read on, since things aren't really well... Poor Ashe... And Basch too, for that matter.

Goddamn, is this nearing it's end!? Oh, the excitement! Keep your exellent work up!

Hm...I'm really bad at writing criticism, and I'll try without sounding like a flame...I really don't mean for it to come across like that, so I apologize if I do.

The past couple chapters have been kind of bad in terms of the pacing (in my opinion, obviously). I haven't posted a review in a while because I couldn't exactly pinpoint what I didn't like...well, now I think it's the pacing. It started with Voli's death, then the destruction of Eruyt village, it's just, the action isn't really there and the you seem to just sort of skip over some stuff. Basch's death of Voli was so anti-climatic it doesn't do it for me. This chapter, also, was a bit drawn out with very little information or action, it just seemed like filler or something post.

Second, it could just be the plot hasn't worked it's way out yet, but the whole Voli's death just doesn't make sense. It seems like he's obviously just weaker now, yet that fake goddess was obviously on his command, so why did he shed his uber powerful, almost immortal skin to become a Basch clone? It seems like if he wanted Basch out of the way, he could have had the goddess thing destroy him, then keep himself powerful...it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but again, it could just be the plot hasn't worked it's way out yet and I'm just possibly being impatient.

Third problem is...your characterization with Penelo seems really off. Lately you've portrayed her as a spoiled brat, rude, petty, and really annoying. Before, I was interesting in the PeneloxVaanxLarsa subplot, but now I don't really care. You've made me draw away from her; it's like Vaan is maturing (perhaps a bit too fast for my liking) and Penelo is regressing. She never had such a moment in the game and I just see her completely differently than the way you write her. Obviously when you write fanfics you have liberties to do whatever you want with the characters, but it seems a bit...to much of a stretch. She's just annoying now and quite frankly, I don't care anything for her any more.

Aside from those three things, I really enjoy this fanfiction and I don't mean to portray that I don't...I'm just trying to provide some criticize that I see.

Good as usual, and more relaxing, and calm than usual. Shorter too. And in my opinion there has been much better chapters in this.

But still, I don't have any real complaints, though I didn't like the second music peice as much I normally like the music in this. It was alright though, and the other tunes were good.

And the end...oh, that was heart-breaking...that really made me feel for poor Ashe. It must be hard to convey the feeling of losing someone you love and then having someone else possess that person's body, but you do it so well! We can really emphathize with Ashe...

And the love triangle is getting interesting and the plot development of other characters is good too. So I hope you keep up the good work...like you usually do

Though i laughed when i read Penelo's mental note to Balthier, lol! Dear, dear... i hope they can save Basch but if he is saved i bet someone would die instead.

Well Sita...it weren't a boring chapter! Again a wonderful choice of music fits with well written paragraphs. I loved how Penelo can't bare to the think of killing Basch, and a lovely Vaan moment of when he agrees with her. I am actually thinking I would prefer Vaan to be with her now, rather than Larsa.

Of course, then the rose. Vaan's reaction was a little off. But I'm sure he'll be okay about it.

As for Balthier. He's latching on a bit? There is something a lot more devious about him I feel. Killing of the princess and his temper (yes could be mourning for Fran) but I think those plans he's got brewing might be a little...suspect.

Then Ashe. The music was so perfect for this end scene.

"It feels as though I am missing my eyes. Without him, I am nothing more than a poor, blind child"

A perfect line!

Though her grieving for Basch's "death" was sad. I am holding out for an eventual happyish reunion. Basch ain't dead. There is some hope. Right?
