dreamersrequiem 2008-11-08 . chapter 1Great fic - great part of the film to pick up on as well. Loved it. |
brittx3babee 2008-05-21 . chapter 1wow, that was really, really good!!
You have TO keep writing Across The Universe stories, I love them!
:D |
YoSafBridge 2008-04-08 . chapter 1Wow...that was nothing short of beautiful. There isn't much for me to say but I feel compelled to review just because of the mere fact that that was one of the most worthwhile things I've ever read on this site. Thank you for that. |
Don Boyardee 2008-03-23 . chapter 1 Interesting. I peticularly like the way that it depicts the horror and flashbacks of victims of PMS, not to mention the problems of a veitnam vet. However the fact that it shows that he was lucky parrallels the way that the movie also gets bad, but even at rock bottom theres farther to fall, and everyone is ok. Just like how max will never be whole, but he will never be the other vet. Its great, and can be interpreted several ways. In addition to this, the story is different to many stories in that it shows not just the aftermath, but a part of the original movie that you never see. A great combination that flows very well. A sad haunting, yet not completly desperate, tale that well deserves to be read. Bravo! |
Le Soleil Avant Le Crepuscule 2008-03-10 . chapter 1That was... Intense? Haha, it was a really cool background to people who were only in the movie for about a minute.
About the references...
Across the Universe for the Beatles reference; "Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup."
Hey You for the Pink Floyd reference; something to do with sitting by the phone, "can you help me", or something.
Well, anyway, excellent story!

amatorius48 2008-03-02 . chapter 1wow this. is. amazing! I really like how you intermixed the numbers with his flashbacks, that was really creative. you are an amazing writer, and my goal now is to be as good as you. |
guardgurlXOXO 2008-03-01 . chapter 1i dont no wat to say. im speechless. this was so wonderfully horrible. wonderful in the way of a wonderful story and horrible in the way that wat happened to him was horrible. it really shows how broken he is and how he still remembers every one he killed. great take on those women in the water. great story. |
Fwe 2008-02-26 . chapter 1There are no words to describe how beautiful your writing is. The flow is amazing, never redundant, never a word out of place. Nicely done. Your Max is completely believable, and I love your take on the women. Never really thought of it that way. Lovely, lovely, lovely. I have envy growing out of my ears now, I swear. |
deadlyxTRENDS 2008-02-21 . chapter 1that was positively awesome.
that particular scene has been so hard for me to wrap my head around, ever since the first time i saw the movie. it's so beautiful, but also very mysterious.
i lovelovelove your take on it.
oh, and your max was kick-ass. |
 A Fiendish Thingy 2008-02-19 . chapter 1Wow.
That was incredible.
And thanks for your constructive criticism on my fic. I agree, and that's why I'm going to finish one more story, and then work on something (more edited, of course) that's more than just a one shot.
YOU'RE A FANTASTIC WRITER.
[and thanks a bunch!] |
TakeMeOrLeaveMe2010 2008-02-03 . chapter 1This is, by far, the best Across the Universe fanfiction I have read so far.
Amazing. So simple, yet so profound.
So many wonderful one-liners in here. For instance, "I can see that just by closing my eyes." Wow. That was incredibly heartbreaking.
Fantastic, fantastic job.
Much love to you and your amazing writing talents.

Mrs. James Harold Potter 2007-11-23 . chapter 1This was so beautiful, for many reasons.
1.) You took a scene that can be interpreted in so many different ways, and gave it your own meaning.
2.) Your writing style is interesting to read.
And just curious...it says that the author is pinkeeyore, so does that mean you didn't write this? Either way, MAJOR kudos to whoever did.
I had always envisioned this scene representing broken purity. Anything white stands for purity, so the 6 women falling into the water, only to show their broken faces afterwards shows how Max, Lucy, and Jude have finally broken away from their past selves. If you remember, this is the scene where Lucy and Jude are separated at the protest, and Jude gets put in jail, while Max sees one of his friends get killed.
Beautiful story. Whoever wrote this, you are very talented. :)
XOXO Mrs. James Harold Potter
(PS: Would you be interested in joining an Across the Universe Role playing forum I created? Its under my forums on my profile. I'd love it if you checked it out and joined. We have some really talented writers and it would be great for you to join us.) |
EvilEatingSanta 2007-11-03 . chapter 1Wow. I don't understand why this only has 3 reviews... It's so intensely amazing.
I LOVE the take on the six women on the ocean. That's so original and I'm so glad that you focused on something many people would not remember and make a story out of that, rather than relationships between the characters, etc. etc. It really sets you apart from the other authors, as being able to do that.
Your writing style is great and never got boring or redundant. I love that you were able to tie all of this together so well and leave me feeling all the more sorry for Max.
I wish I could say more, but I'm speechless. Beautiful, beautiful work. I hope to see more original stories out there, like this one!

Tastes of Strawberries 2007-10-28 . chapter 1Wow. That was really...powerful.
You kept Max in character, and everybody else too.
And that interpretation was just amazing.
Especially number six.
[“I can see that just by closing my eyes,” he says.]
Probably the most powerful line there.
Lovely work. |
Reiya Inc. 2007-10-22 . chapter 1So beautifully tragic. I love it, [and not just because it's max-centric] the characterization of Max is a perfect amount of angst and humanity. And the story isn't pointless either. Good job, I hope you'll continue to write more top-notch AtU fics. |
