Nice reference to Shino being lost as the "first", and Innis unable to protect her second 'chosen one', which is Atoli. Manifestations of the avatars are pretty good, though i'd probably be more squeely if I saw SkeithxInnis. :P Still, nice story.

I liked, but there was one line I really didn't understand that well. When Skeith said "You lost your first and now you can’t even protect your second? Maybe you should try for a third?" I didn't understand what the third and first was supposed to symbolize. (I can be dense, so that may be the reason)

I love the sharp contrast between Innis and Skeith over their relation to their hosts. Innis' kindness and will for Atoli to be happy was even more apparent next to Skeith's rage.

Definitely enjoyed that; possessive and jealous Skeith is a delight to read when done well. ^^
