Like Viburnum, I believe Light was a megalomaniac. But I also believe he was somewhat of a sociopath too. How else can you explain his callous attitude towards killing people? Unlike Viburnum, I don't believe he was misguided. I believe he knew exactly what he was doing. Look at some of the causes of deaths he wrote down. I don't believe that he felt any remorse either. I felt he died like a coward, trying to avoid the ending he sent so many to without a 2nd thought.

You did make a mistake regarding Mikami, though. I believe its mentioned in the final chapter of the manga that he died in jail a few days after Light did. Other than that though, this is a good fic.

Wow. This is exactly how I pictured Light dying when I read the last part of the manga! Seriously!

Light is a megalomaniac I like and this fic depicted ALOT of him. I believe he was misguided and if everyone just noticed he was "kid in genius's clothing" this wouldn't have happened to him. The truth is that Light is well misled and by his need for justice he becomes the damned himself. Though he killed L, Lawliet triumphs over him in the end because he knew absolute truth when Light did not understand anything. Sure he is intelligent but not philosophical and the fact is that no one gave him the love and understanding HE REALLY needed (he thought Misa and Mikami were just immature) then he could have been saved. Though Light is the protagonist, L is the hero of the series. As you said Light was human after all and this fic is the BOMB explaining all the FLAWS of Light Yagami
