Catching up on fics...Tip, I think you've outdone yourself, here! OMG, please tell me his parents didn't leave Rodney alone. I actually stopped reading for a moment at that point, it was so powerful and awful, and makes sense considering his character. Finished the fic of course, but that's one of those scenes that will stick with me when I think of these stories. Wow.

I can't even tell you how much I love this story. The way you weave the past and present together is great-you've got an excellent grasp on pacing and the overall flow of writing. Not to mention great characterization and Rodney whump!

I like the contrast of differences and similarities between the two events. It gives a reasonable source for a number of Rodney's quirks as well. Can't help thinking about Philip Larkin! ;-)

Fantastic fic - the whole style of it was great. You just know there's got to be some major malfunction in McKay's childhood to make him the person he is but it turns out he has two - his parents. I like that they screwed him up through being screwed up themselves rather than being melodramatically abusive, although I'm guessing they couldn't have lasted too much longer after this considering how normal Jeannie turned out. It was good that it never crossed that line and you never know if Rodney's fear of his father was just his runaway, childish imagination, which even genius kids must have. I don't want to say I *liked* that evil nurse type woman at the hospital when he was a kid, but I'm sure you know what I mean - it was a nice touch.

That was brilliant. I loved the dynamic between Rodney's memories and current events. It boosted the drama and gave a look into why Rodney is the way he is. It was amazing. Just amazing

Love love love this story, love how you described his parents, noted the similar traits he had with them. Loved the contrast between his family and his friends, love the whole "closed his eyes" transition, just loved all of it.

I am in love with this story! This is one of the first Atlantis fics that I've ever read; I really enjoyed it! Thanks for writing such a great team fic. This fic is very well written. I love that they all contributed to saving McKay, and that there were moments he had with all of them worrying. So great. Good job!
