I think this is part of why Phantom fic can still be so rich; there's always something to mine. He left a lot of holes to fill in, and there are endless ways to do it.

You leave us in suspense regarding what Meg and Sorelli are like after so many years. They seem to be interacting against the backdrop of an old and intimate friendhip -- yet there is a certain amount of reserve between them.

One gets the feeling that there is so very much alive and moving beneath this surface impression you give us of the two women and the events they shared.

You certainly know how to sheathe a hideous event in beautiful prose!

Captivating prose, although the circumstances of the match Erik has made are somewhat sad.

It´s surprising that the Baron has arrived at the grand old age of sixty without scandal. He must have been discreet.

Meg´s case is somewhat more mysterious, since you´re subtle. If I´m not mistaken in my conclusions regarding her, this marriage will be the perfect vehicle in which she may hide.

Fascinating slice of life.

I'd think that would definitely sour Erik on Persia. Being a child caged or forced into a coffin, being held down for whatever reason would set him off like a firecracker.

I liked his response to the Baron--'I told her that stories of Persia would burn her like fire.' also liked how protective of Meg he is through this. Let's hope it is a fitting match.

You description is incredible as is your story. The Baron sounds like a creepy guy to me, but Erik must see something in him that would work for Meg. I am very interested to see where this goes. Interesting story, it`s kind of like a behind the scenes glimpse into what Leroux Erik was really up to. Have a vague memory of that false nose etc. being mentioned in the original.

I always felt he had far more outside social interaction than just lurking around the Opera House and do like the idea of him being a matchmaker of sorts. He obviously knew exactly how to have Meg dress so the baron could fully appreciate her *ahem* charms.
