It was a tad too short, though. A fic like this requires length. If Shinichi was at the hospital, I'm fairly certain that Heiji and the others would be there to check up on the poor tantei, as well as to at least try and calm Ran down in her fit of hysteria.

That last scene where Ran thinks she's seeing Shinichi holding a baby was SO tearful, yet unexpected and sweet! I really enjoyed it... ^^

Cute, as they all say! You have a way of depicting childhood moments with so much youthful innocence and naivety. It would have been more so, though, if not for the "romantic" part--friendship fics are really nice for young Shinichi and Ran. But who am I to judge? XD

This balloon-fic reminds me a lot of one episode; I can't remember the title. I know you know what I'm saying--it involves a bunny balloon as well.

What else to say?--ah, about the description. I'm not saying that you should add more adjectives--and end up describing the balloon as a "very big, goofy, yellow bunny balloon" for times a tad bit too many--but more description would be quite wonderful. You said you didn't like dialogue-based fics.

And about Ran getting lost and sobbing (the epitome of 30 Tears): way to go with childhood drama. Maybe I'm just heartless, but you always depict the young Ran as very teary. She's still adorable, though! (Glomps)
