One thing I have always enjoyed about your stories is how true you keep the characters. Holding fast to of their ever present insecurities.
The almost overly analytical mention of Major Payne fits Sousuke incredibly well. Though I think the "crack of doom" comment was my very favorite.
This was yet another success to be sure.
