Poor Luke. But it did turn out well in the end. Vader's really not that bad a father when he puts his mind to it. His problem seems to be the way he habitually dismisses things that are going on as inconsequential or less important than his other duties. I'm glad he didn't do that this time.

It was really nice reading Luke and Vader bonding, but it also tugged at the heartstrings to have Luke blame himself for Padme’s death.

I love the one-liners going on between Amedda and Vader. Wait, does Amedda know how Vader is?

Luke sleeping in Vader’s arms was adorable; I have successfully reached my cute quota today.

“One touch of the Force later, and one speeder mysteriously started up and flew straight over the side. It plunged about three hundred meters, and then exploded in the square below.” Whoa…

The banter back and forth Luke and Vader have about the snack machine was a great touch.

“Vader stared at Luke, wondering just when that day would come. He was naive and untrained now, but for how much longer? Soon, he would be a threat to him. They would have to fight each other one day. Fight to the death.” It would be great that if, one day, Vader would possess the ability to recognize when he may be damning himself to bend to a self-fulfilling prophecy.

"Listen, I promise you. If you forget any of your lines, or trip, I will purposely forget one of my lines and fall over." Childhood loyalty is a wonderful thing.

Ben’s father’s reactions to Ben being born and Ben becoming a teenager was great, and that’s an interesting birthday tradition you wrote about here, the candy in the cake thing; did you come up with that idea? Also, Ben and Luke playing and chasing each other with their lightsaber props was fun to read.

I loved the bit where Luke sleep-told Vader to jump in a black hole. Also, it must be weird having a classmate play a parent in a historical play. Luke doesn’t seem to mind too much, though, and I like how he wanted to be a Jedi so he can act out trying to kill the Emperor.

“Luke stopped himself short of saying that Rodni wasn't ugly enough to play the Emperor.” It’s nice to see Luke has working mental filters.

I love the universe you've created, and this story especially hit home. Poor Vaderkin, Empire Day WOULD be the worst day imaginable for him.
