Several of the stories in this batch are so far over the top that this one seems almost sedate by comparison. (The title is also...odd. Deconstructable, but odd.) That said, "sedate" has its uses, and the narrative is well matched with its major characters. And as conservative as it is, the basic premise -- turning familiar characters inside out -- is indeed a soap opera staple.
