I just started this story, so I couldn't have guessed Danny's elements before this, but your authors note surprised me. I myself would have guessed air and water. (though a personally think he would be really ugly in the air bender colors.) reasons being 1. He couldn't be a fire bender, as his natural element was ICE. (his ice powers) 2. Using the same reasoning, ice as far as I can tell is a mixture of water and air. And 3, can YOU, picture him doing earth bending? It's not his style. Also taking into account that he already has some airbender qualitys, (incorporating his flight into his fighting style), and he would look badaft doing waterbending. You just can't fight that reasoning.
