I'd take the word "or" out of that sentence.

"'Know from experiece', huh?" Ben said over the loud sizzle of bacon and eggs.

Ben's third word should be "experience"

I loved how Alicia refused to say anything negative about Ben Grimm, even when he'd be a bit down on himself.

Ben's insecurities do make a nice touch in this story. Him claiming to be completely okay with his transformation and moniker (in the films), just doesn't sit well with me.

"He glanced down at the hands he had grown accustomed to seeing every day since the cosmic storm."

His powers didn't manifest themselves right away, so this sentence doesn't make sense. I'd change "the cosmic storm" to "his transformation".
