Sparkly Faerie 10/9/11 . chapter 3
I don't normally review things this old, but I feel compelled to say that this is one of the most beautiful Sirius pieces that I've ever read. It's actually reduced me to tears more than once.

It's a shame you don't post anymore; this website needs more authors like you.

another great one :D
verity candor 8/27/09 . chapter 3
Aw. lovely ending, I love how you show him both growing up (a bit) but also completely isolated in the past. Great job.
verity candor 8/27/09 . chapter 2
Really nice second chapter too! I love how the theme of chasing time is always carried through the different parts. Nicely done!
verity candor 8/27/09 . chapter 1
I liked it, it's very perceptive, and rather spot-on character-wise (I especially enjoyed James, who is slightly ass-ish, but really fun to read about)

Very good story. Everyone gains many different names throughout their lives. Sirius has more than most people do, and somehow manages to remember them all. Wow.
gibrelina 12/6/08 . chapter 1
"And off he shoots, instantly so far ahead of them that it’s impossible for Peter to even attempt to catch up. Some people are just not made for flying.

Sirius exchanges a wry look with Remus. That is James – always so far ahead of them, in everything. So far ahead of them in life. Being James, he isn’t the sort who has the patience to wait for them to catch up, either.

Sirius suspects he never will."

I LOVED this part. it was genius, really.
siri the marauder 8/21/08 . chapter 3
Wow, this is an amazing story! I loved getting this insight into Sirius's life, and I think you wrote it absolutely perfectly! This is wonderful and so touching, a rare occurrence for someone like me. Hooray!

well done...it's an excellent fic...even though i didn't quite agreed wid u in some parts...i doubt that sirius would've been extremely unhappy deep down at lily and james wedding...(it would've been more like a tiny dissapointment...)

and...his thoughts about remus...he knows that remus is werewolf...hasn't exactly enjoyed his life and has suferred a lot, perhaps not more than sirius...but he won't be dissapointed wid remus and tonks either.

only constructive critisism...don't take it as an offence...

but it was EXTREMELY well written...ur potray of emotions is really mind-blowing.

I absolutely love it! I've always wondered how Sirius felt when going through all them things. His life like Severus was pretty miserable too...almost.
tresdrole 4/28/08 . chapter 3
Nice! I've been really enjoying realistic Sirius fics lately. Yours measured up! Well done! :D
MBP 3/27/08 . chapter 3
Oh, Lexie, you very much got it right. Parts of this are so desperately sad - the mention of the photograph in The Prisoner and the whole of The Hero - I wish he could have lived to appreciate it, though. :( The end, at least, shows that he did get what he almost wanted when Harry threatened to kill him. He's back with James and Lily at last. I don't think he ever loved anyone more.
MBP 3/27/08 . chapter 2
Oh gosh... it is so sad and so complicated to be Sirius. He's really had it rough, hasn't he? I love the different phases you take him through in this chapter and the way he dreams of how Harry's life could have been with him and Remus. I think the might-have-beens are what made this series paricularly sad. There were so many missed opportunities for so many characters. This story, though, shows, I think, that Sirius was involved in nearly all of those. In case you haven't noticed - I loved this.

sirius and patience definitely do not go well together :D- though he has had to be patient an awful lot- so not quite oil and water, but more, ah, jelly beans and peanut butter? (my mind's still on easter- happy belated bunny day yourself!)- i think 'the prisoner' was my favorite section this time- love the 'left while i still could' and the image of snape bugging him b/c he represents them all aging- also, nice explanation of how sirius ends up not countering dumbledore keeping him in (ooh, that *really* bothered me back when i read ootp)

Cupid- is that the 1st one w/o a the? :)- was another great title- and architrave is a fabulous noun and conveys a perfect grimmauld-y description; also loved the glimpse at james/lily lovers' nonsense. the sense of age and time works well w/ the dancing at the wedding bit; it's an interesting irony, sirius figuring he'd always have peter- i really wonder about that, b/c he clearly isn't husband material, as mentioned- i've been meaning to write a story someday of sirius w/o the war- where voldemort's taken down or not there and everything's happy- but b/c i have this bad feeling he'd still have ended up a tragedy. nice seeing kingsley the leader- and poor remus :(

i'll admit the last section jarred me- it ties in really well w/ memento mori- but it was a surprisingly happy ending (i do like the idea that all that matters are his moments of happiness)- i think it's the food (randomly)- b/c it's such an- alive thing here at the end. it was a good moment choice, though, b/c as throughout, it's sort of a 'side', real-feeling moment- not the moment of reunion, but something more telling. for me, the second-last sentence seemed slightly... too conclusive?- i think it's strong enough throughout you don't need to 'recap' quite so much- the writing leading up to it makes the point for you. really nice character capture of sirius, overall- i think you hit on all the points that really make him sirius black. :D great job!

you've done wonderfully!

It was a great way of ending it
