Reviews for Yew and the Sea

This may very well be my new favorite fairy tale:)

Loved it. Seems that you're as good at making up your own stories as writing about others' stories.

Oh I loved this tale! Your original work should kick *. It had all the markings of fairy tales, it was exciting, it had great caharcterisation and a happy end. :) A fav.
Update 6/26/09 . chapter 1
I love this! It's so fairytale-perfect (I mean, perfectly fairytale-y) but without the nasty damsel-in-distress-ness that plagues most 'real' fairytales. So excellent!

Brilliant. I totally saw the Yew/You thing coming, and I felt so clever... aww, poor merchant's son. But shame on him for running off. Idiot.

Wow, I'm really impressed! You're a great writer! I absolutely loved the riddle ("Have I found Yew?"). I actually thought all of their houses happened to be built from Yew wood, but I liked your way better! And the ending, with the merchant's son finally finding 'his princess'-who would never have been a princess in the first place if he hadn't left! I loved it-I'm sure you got full marks for it!

Oh, this is lovely! It reminds me of fairytales I read as a little girl, if I hadn't known that you had written this then I would have assumed that it was written around the same time as all the old fairytales. This is really, really, beautiful, and I bet you passed!

Oh! *little gasp of surprised pleasure*

Isn't it lucky then that I've found this little nugget of glory among the normal Fairy Tales! How brilliant!

The storyline was told in a flawlessly fairy tale manner, one that I can't quite seem to catch no matter how hard I try. I applaud you, and admit my jealousy. *smile*

Yew is wonderful, and the traditional quick-thinking dashingly true heroine we all love to read about. Great work! Her curse, and the merchant's son at the end, were mystical and sweet accordingly. I didn't expect him to come back, yet you made him happy(ish) in the end. Well done, indeed!

I do hope you get marvelous marks for it!

Beautiful. I love the final plot twist.
