 Ducky'sgirl4ever 2009-10-24 . chapter 1A great story. Very good. |
Amita4ever 2009-01-15 . chapter 1I found a link to this in a forum and thought I'd check it out. WELL worth the time. Beautifully written! Powerful message! Enchanting description! All in all, a marvelous work. Do keep writing, and do keep writing in Narnia because you make the characters so real.
My favorite line was when Aslan said “I wouldn’t be able to watch over you, if I were small.” You so captured the essence of God/Christ, whom Aslan represents, in that small sentence. He is so powerful and awesome and formidable - so great as to be all-powerful, all knowing, and it is that greatness that makes it possible for Him to watch over us. How blessed we are to know He is so great and that it IS His desire to watch over us and protect us.
I would also praise your mastery of English. I could tell that it was not your native language, but the errors were relatively few. As one who is still mastering her first language - LOL - I have the greatest respect for your skill!
Keep writing. |
intastella burst 2008-06-26 . chapter 1Oh, that was so *beautiful*. Truly. Fantastic answer to all of the Sues out there without being cruel or bashing . . . just a lovely reminder of what True Love really is. |
Now Unused 2008-04-19 . chapter 1What a beautiful story! I loved how you showed Meriminni's progression as a character, and she goes from being a silly fangirl to a changed person after meeting Aslan. And, I admire how you weren't outright bashing anyone (Sue writers), but rather telling an encouraging story of what True Love is. Thanks for writing this!

Marigold Winters 2008-03-14 . chapter 1I love it so much. just why. its only a short little ficlet but its so poignant and is( enriched i think is the word) with such meaning. It really is such a good story and you could possibly turn it into a chaptered story if you really wanted to.

excessivelyperky 2008-02-16 . chapter 1Oh, this is good. There is love, and then there is the Greatest Love. And you can love others more when you love Him best. |
Zytasis 2007-11-23 . chapter 1 Yay, you posted! I mean what I said, I really like this story. It deserves better feedback than, "Aw, that's so nice!" So here goes-
It's a feelgood fic. When you get to the end, you feel all warm and squishy inside. As you may have picked up from my sporkings, that doesn't happen for me all that often ;-) You give enough detail to allow us to see the characters, without all the dross that leads to them being annoying. Well done!
No need to thank me, you're the one who told me you thought I'd be a good beta. |
4thFromTheFurnace 2007-11-22 . chapter 1This was absolutely wonderful! I love how, in the end, doesn't focus on the relationship between the characters(Meriminni and Peter), as most do, but aludes to the pure, faultless relationship that doesn't disappoint, fail, anger, sadden, or anything of the like. It focuses on the point of turning hearts from the things that only last a moment, to the one love that lasts forever, which is really amazing! I've noticed this with my own life. Once I turned my attention away from all other things and began focusing on the one I'm REALLY trying to please, my life became so much better. To be honest, people have asked me what I'm smoking, or told me to stop, because of the boundless joy and hardcore happiness I found in the One who drives and doesn't disappoint. The embodiment of this awesome truth in your story is astounding! Your story presents all this and, even though it's in Narnia, it's a story that many people can relate to in some way or another! I love it! Fantastic job! |
Lion'sGirl 2007-11-16 . chapter 1 Oh! That was so sweet. I loved Meriminni's meeting with Aslan. Beautiful story! |
Val Evenstar 2007-11-16 . chapter 1What a beautiful, beautiful story! I almost cried...Thank you so much for writing this and reminding us that there's really only One worth worshipping.
"Now her songs were her own creation, and they were transcendent. Now her voice sounded magic, and her eyes seemed to look at another world when she sang." - love this line. Love this story! |
elecktrum 2007-11-16 . chapter 1What a marvelous story! While the main character was most definitely a Sue, a beast I usually avoid, you never let the story lapse into the absurd. Meriminni's start as a silly, empty-headed little girl was a delight to read. I was glad she had Lorelei to ground her even if her advice fell upon (initially) deaf ears. Her meeting with Aslan and the realizations that she came too were wonderful. I was glad at the end when Meriminni could look upon the High King without being disappointed that he wasn't smitten with love for her.
The was a lovely story of growing up, growing in love, and opening one's heart. Very pretty! Bravo Zulu, I loved it! |
