You're right, there is a slight problem with staying character (as a matter of fact I'm not sure you ever found it lol), but staying in character would not have fit this episode. It's too energetic and irreverent for that. And I mean that in a good way. With all those asides and author comments, it's not meant to be a serious story but an entertaining bit of fluff, as someone else said.

As far as keeping in character for a more serious story my only suggestion would be to read and reread all the books. You might pick it up by osmosis, so to speak, or at the very least notice new details.

I'm surprised they haven't started a Darkangel section yet since it's up to five or six stories. I've seen categories with less.
