This was the cutest AyameKakashi oneshot EVER!

It loses some of its punch int he execution, but the idea...that Kakashi treasures this small haven away from bloodshed so much that he doesn't even want to see her kill a chicken...is wonderful.

Nice job. You included irritation or insecurity in Ayame that she isn't a ninja...I imagine that would take a total SAINT not to feel, when one is dating what amounts to nearly a superhuman.

And I was quite worried for a moment re: the whole chicken thing. At first I feared Ayame would be infantilized to an extent, Kakashi behaving as though she should not kill anything ever, and needed protection from life. To me would be sort of...anti-civilian, in a way, and a bit too patriarchal for my tastes (ironic, seeing as how I'm a dude:)). I'm not sure if I'm making sense here or not.

Instead, you (correctly, in my opinion) alluded to the issue being one of Kakashi's hang-ups and psychological issues overall, rather than one of 'protect the helpless civvie'.

My only suggestion/criticism for this story is to point out that you've got an interesting issue for Ayame to wonder about there-is he with her because she's Ayame, or because she's a *civilian*, which must present a unique attraction to someone who wants to 'take his mind off things'?

And the suggestion is that perhaps Ayame, earlier a bit irritated at her civilian status compared to Kakashi's (and his female peers') shinobi status, might be annoyed again at this protective impulse on Kakashi's part, and the emphasis he places on her innocence.

That was unexpectedly interesting. I liked it.

Ah that was totally weird and made no sense. Anyway... I liked the theme of Kakashi not wanting her to bloody her hands.
