Awesome job with Collette's character! I've never written her, but I imagine she's be hard to write. Linguini was perfect, blending perfectly in the background, as a lot of the moments were about Collette.

I wrote out a really long review the other day, but when I hit submit, it all got lost. So here's a second try!

Overall, I really liked this fic. First, all your ideas on backstory for Colette are really intriguing. It's quite in character. That she has a past, but tries not to let it affect her in the now, as she is an adult now.

Linguini is very in character too. I like how you wrote is reaction to the kiss. It can be read through your writing that he is a *ahem* "functioning" man, but the best kind because he is so innocent and pure. You can tell he hasn't really got other "intentions", because he was able to tell his body no. Nice one!

Then again, Colette's response with "Men. You're all the same." She's got experience! =D I like your idea of her past sweetheart being foreign. We all know that the canon Colette is a modern, unconventional woman, so naturally, she'd go for someone exotic. And I like how you made that a problem in her family. Seems like her parents are more traditional and disapproving, right?

Aw at: "It was hard for LInguini to comprehend. He had been the light of his mother's life..." That's sweet how he can't relate to his girl's family life. And it makes it all the more sad that he lost his mother.

I love the way you write Colette missing the touch of a lover. It's very sentimental and poignant. . . and a bit close to home! ;)

Their conversation is written so well. Props to you! It's kind of flowing and natural. Colette's very straight-forward and honest, Linguini's very awkward, yet content and charming! It's all simply put, but delightful to read.

It seems like you've left room for a sequel, or a second chapter. Are you planning to write more on a visit to the Tatous'? I hope you'll continue so we can also hear some more on Alfredo's past.

Also, please check out my Ratatouille fics!
Thanks for a nice read (and distraction from my looming final essay...) :)
