Very in character, Durand's rare moment of compassion was done very well. Robin's role in this fic was well placed too, good job!

I just started watching this anime and just finished Episode 12 a couple days ago. This is the first Chevalier D'eon fanfic I've read, and I'm glad it was my first. It's great to be introduced to the world of fanficton for this anime with such a great story. It's very well written, and everyone is in great character. Thanks for the great experience!

Lovely, just lovely. The world needs more Chevalier fanfiction like this.
Everyone was marvellously in-character, Durand with his usual stinging humor, d'Eon with his adorable foolishness. And Robin, of course, couldn't forget him.
Nicely done!

A truly lovely oneshot, and even better, in my new favourite series.

As I've only seen the first two volumes of Chevalier, I cannot say whether this is true to the universe, but from what I have seen, this fic is wonderfully in character, and captures the roguish Durand in a moment of sensitivity.

More than anything, the pauses in the story give it real gravitas; Durand leaving to fetch water leave D'Eon time to think, to dwell, and the disturbance both men feel in relation to Lia's unpredictable emergences is palpable.

And the Robin lines at the end were just perfect. He is still wary of Durand, and always very observant, yet willing to reconsider his opinions based on the man's actions. From what I know of the character so far, this portrayal of him is wonderfully realised.

Please write more Chevalier fics, and soon, as the fandom, it would seem is seriously in need of quality writers, such as yourself. I am looking forward to your next story. Now, I'm off to buy volume 3!
