*wistful sigh* I started smiling when I read the alert for this chapter in my mailbox, and it didn't waver a single second. This is just lovely. Confused!inlove!Ayumu is terribly endearing, and although it's quite strange you manage to keep him IC. :)

I must say that I am very pleased that you have continued this story. I have always enjoyed Spiral both in anime and manga form. I wish the anime had continued but what can one do?

Anyway, I remember reading Chain the first time around and thought it well written. The revamping only adds to it and I found much joy in following the lives of Ayumu and Hiyono once more.

The balance of Ayumu's logic with his feelings for Hiyono was spot on as was Hiyono's reactions and responses to Ayumu's questions. You know the characters well and I could see this in my head perfectly. I especially liked Chapter four when Ayumu found Hiyono in the rain. Their conversation made me smile as did the devotion Hiyono showed in her decision to stay behind to be with him. They have the makings of a great relationship as do Kousuke and Ryouko, who do their part in the realms of comedy and banter with fantastic pananche.

All in all, I say you've done excellent and I look forward to reading more.
