escritoireazul 2009-09-24 . chapter 2I loved this story when I first read it at Yuletide and I love it rereading it now. It's heart breaking and beautiful, sweet and painful, and just absolutely amazing.
I really hope you continue this someday. I love Nan, Bess, and James, though Bess hurting Dan breaks my heart, and I'm eager to see more of Jo and her genius book.
Thank you for writing this story. |
Halcyone 2009-08-24 . chapter 1 I don't think this needs a third part. It's perfection as it is, and weren't Jo & Laurie always about potential? I especially love the sense of time and how you've managed to have all the characters living their own lives.
Yours in great admiration |
Four of Spades 2009-08-03 . chapter 2I _adore_ this. I very much hope you will continue it someday. |
sophia666 2009-06-21 . chapter 2really wonderful, intricate, interesting story. hoping you update it soon. |
cali-chan 2009-03-31 . chapter 2oh my goodness. THIS fic right here. this is what i've been waiting for after reading three quarters down the LW section of this website over the past few days. this is just what i needed: a fanfic that promises to bring jo and laurie together, without undoing all that is little men and jo's boys-- which never fails to leave a bitter aftertaste in my mouth when i read it in other fics, because i so loved both sequels and wouldn't change them for the world, despite all my heartbreak over the potential jo and laurie had.
just what i needed, a jo that is every bit the loving mother bhaer that we came to know at plumfield, but who is also very much the young, spirited jo we all came to love from the little women days. a jo that loves her family, her life and what she has done with it, and yet wishes to keep on living and is open to new experiences after a drastic change.
and very much what i needed, a laurie who DID in fact love amy very much, for he shared a life and a daughter with her and he wouldn't be the man we all love if he were any bitter or regretful about his choices-- but who still finds a soulmate in his jo, for he loves her in his own way, and he always will.
and my dear dan... OH, my dan. and bessie. and NAN! i love that you've put so much emphasis on the plumfield boys and girls, it's rare to read even the littlest bit about them in this corner of the internet, so i'm very appreciative that you've not only mentioned them, but actually woven them into the story. now if only i could get some tommy in there somewhere, i'd be completely happy.
and i absolutely adore your prose, your style and how it almost feels like reading out of the book itself-- so much that i find myself catching the lingo as well (i'm sure it's obvious from the way i've typed this review up). it makes me feel like i'm reading something by alcott, and that makes me feel giddy regardless of how the plot ends up.
i'm very anxious to see what happens upon laurie's return-- the ordeal between bess and dan, if it ever comes out. dan's whereabouts (oh, he's not already dead, tell me he's not!). laurie's first meeting with jo after such a long time and so much heartache and revelations for both... i'm currently almost hanging off the edge of my seat. i know it's been a very long time since you've updated and i'm the last person who should be saying this (i know what it is, having fanfics that haven't been updated in years) but please, i would love it if you continued this. this really begs to be continued, because it's really, really fantastic and it deserves to see an end. in the meantime, thank you for a truly compelling read. |
Fictitious Character 2008-11-15 . chapter 2No! I'm like Teddie in Europe waiting impatiently for Jo's next chapter, except I'm fairly certain Teddy never came across her work more than a year after she had last posted it! Please continue with this story - it's truly phenomenal, and I would absolutely love to read more. I live in hope... |

Pearl 2008-04-13 . chapter 2 You have a beautiful writing style. Thank you for taking such good care of the characters and places that I love.
I can't help but be envious of your writing style. Its very simple but elegant. Sort of like Japanese Haiku. Thank you for this beautiful story. I look forward to reading the next installation. |
