Oh-kay. I admit I'm biased. I know Torchwood and don't know the other fandom so as much issues as I have with Torchwood - I was always gonna be cheering for them.

Now though... Jeez, I'm just so annoyed with those *natives*. Jack hitting Ross was fantastic. Shouldda done something more too. *feeling violent*

I don't like the other team. I can't help it. They're nosy and *not cool*. And I should be able to express myself more eloquently, but, damn, I'm *annoyed*.

I can only hope they get taken down a few pegs.

And all that leads to the conclusion - that this is a wonderful story & you're a cool writer. Knowing only Torchwood - I don't feel alienated from the other fandom though *i don't have to *like* them* and I actually care enough to be angry right now.

Really great job at melding the 2 fandoms together (well 3 if you count Doctor Who as separate).
I loved the Jack/Ianto that you worked in, it's one of the very few cannon pairings I actually enjoy!

When fandoms collide, or unite to save the Earth... Awesome. I thought this was brilliantly written, and I found I couldn't walk away from it so easily without reading it in one sitting, which I actually did. Characterizations were spot on and the action scenes were fanatastic. Great job.

I have just read this story in one day and went from laughing to crying and loved every minute of it.
I'm not new to your stories but am new to this fandom (I came over from a Torchwood point of view) and now can't wait to read the new sequel.
Well written and from a TW/Who pov it was in character and within the realms of possibility.
I especially loved the 'Jack sharing his experiences from TYTNW' with Ianto, then the team & then the CI guys.

Keep up the good work and if you can see your way to writing more Ashes & Dust that would be good too. Thanks.

As for the flying from Cardiff to NYC. You can't get there directly. Northwest and KLM have flights that connect through Amsterdam, but it's a 12 hour marathon.

Most likely the group would take the train into London and fly from Heathrow. The train trip is an express and is about 2 hours. The flight from Heathrow to NYC is around 8 hours depending on the flight path.

I have actually made it past ch 2 (and am genuinely enjoying the interaction between the characers from both shows; Goren in particular always struck me as someone it would be difficult to write, to get into the head of, and you've done a fantastic job.)

Anyway, I back tracked to 2 because I wanted to say how utterly beautiful the first few paragraphs were between Jack and Ianto. I'm a much bigger fan of subtle flirtation than the often ill-handled bump and grind I've found in a lot of other fics. This was totally in character and really just beautifully written.

I just stumbled on this... and ok, if you hadn't already had me with Bobby Goran and Jack Harkness matching wits, you won me over completely with the statement about never ever being a Jack/Gwen shipper ;-) To each their own of course... but... I'm gonna go read more. This is off to a fantastic start.
