That's probably exactly what Nathan would do... Except I do think he cared about Saya because, when you think about it, he saved her multiple times. And since he was probably their mother's Chevalier, he would care about both her children, right? Don't get me wrong though, I love it. You have a great way of writing. n_n

I too was surprised when Amshel says to Nathan "you say that like you know" or something, and Nathan implies (okay, basically SAYS...or was it just me?) that he was their mother's chevalier. And suddenly his character unfolded for me in a way I didn't expect. I was just sad we didn't know til the end. He definitely could have been more.

So I'm glad someone else is paying him this respect - and I like that you seem to have gotten the same ideas about him that I did - about loving Diva in a way none of the rest of them really did...

Any more ideas floating around in your brainpan? Because I would definitely love to read them...
