A good splice-in to the story, a moment we never really got to have. The terse conversations we did get showed how much she regretted not being able to save everyone, but we never got much of an emotional outburst, which I think at that point in the story, had to've happened somewhere. There was just too much stress at that point to not vent somewhere.

And while I am a big fan of Garrus/Shep, so am I a fan of Alenko/Shep, and this somehow managed to satisfy both - protective Garrus and thoughtful Kaidan. Bravo.

'“Kaidan, if this is your idea of a pep talk, it needs some definite improvement,” Shepard said. “Now, if you don’t mind, I’d like to get back to work--”'

I liked this bit, because it's the perfect example of sniping at others when you're upset. The interaction in this is wonderful - nice work! :D

I never really liked Ashley, but I really enjoyed this story. I'm glad there are people out there writing fanfiction about Mass Effect. Keep up the good work.

Brilliant. Shepard's character was developed in merely a paragraph, extremely quick, but very well. How she acted was very defined and human. I applaud you.
