Simple, but moving & powerful. I like how John kept up the tradition of Christmas for Mary & how he needed to do it for himself as much as for the boys.

Aw! I have to warn you. This review will probably be puncuated with way too many "Aw!"'s. I refuse to take full responsibility for them. It's partially your fault for writing such a damn cute oneshot. )

In a lot of stories, John is usually portrayed as an unfeeling bastard. I think that makes it especially gratifying to encounter your version of John which, although at times does hold a bit of that marine toughness, is usually centered on the protective, caring father that he really is. I've always enjoyed your John, but never as much as in this fic.

Personalized vials of holy water. lol You know, I bet they really do have those.

It's so lovely to see John interacting with Sam; not talking down to him, yet tenderly keeping as much of a childhood for his boy as he possibly can. Sam's plea to his dad not to shoot Santa was so adorable, but also just a bit sad. What a life these Winchesters have...that little Sammy has to worry about Santa getting a load of rocksalt in his Ho Ho Ho's!

And Dean. Oh, I could just squeeze the little guy! Giving up gifts for rocksalt. Aw! Daddy's little soldier through and through. That one really tugged at my heart strings. A nine year old shouldn't have to worry about such things. And that tear...Aw!

This story actually made me almost switch sides for a moment. I love Sam, and that conversation he had with his dad was sweet and cute, but the sacrifices Dean was willing to make, on top of all the ones he'd aleady made...Aw! I love Dean! Ok, you have to hurry and write something else so I can reignite my Sammy flame. )

Very cute. I loved John's explaination to Sammy about Santa. And his explaination to Dean on why he needs to do this for his boys. And the Angel watching over them breifly was a classy touch.
