Wow, what to say. The plot really should have gone like this. Honestly, right now it's "Oh, it's not possible for a shinigami to have more power than that. OMIGOSH! HE GOT MORE POWER. He can't possibly grow stronger. OMIGOSH! HE DID! (repeat as many times as needed)." But this... this would have been magnificent. I love the flashbacks. Although I'm not quite sure about how they reincarnated, or whatever it is they did...

So, just so you know, this is the BEST Ulqihime I've read, and one of the best Bleach Fics found here. Honestly. I absolutely adore the relationship between Ulqui and Grimm, it suits them very well, in my opinion! And the love story between Ukita and Akari is just too sweet. I have to admit I can't very well imagine Orihime with black hair...nor Grimmjow, for that matter...but picturing Ulquiorra with long hair tied in a pony-tail, in full Samurai-garb...well, it gives me the shivers (very pleasant ones :D). Thank you so very much for this experience, it was a treat!

I'm a sucker for sweet endings. I loved Ulquiorra being Ishida's son - they are alot alike. You wrapped it up well. Everything worked - everything made sense.
Loved it - I should have gone to bed hours ago which is the best compliment I can give - I really value my sleep!
I can't wait to read the sequel, though I'll wait till tomorrow.

I'm going for a marathon reading this, but I had to stop and review because I was laughing out loud at this chapter. You have Grimmjow written so well - I could actually hear him saying those things about Ulquiorra - “If anybody’s kicking his ass, it’s gonna be me. Short of pissing all over him, I thought I had made that clear.” That is what makes Grimmjow so enjoyable!

When I came across this story, I was simply looking for another Grimm/UlqxHime fic and didn't really have expectations otherwise. Little did I know that I would not only get that but a great story as well.

I could tell upon reading even the first few paragraphs that the author had a thoroughly well-rounded writing style that was intriguing, flowing, and creative. I usually have pretty high standards and the one obvious indicator that this was above the norm was that I read it all in one day; something that many stories simply fail to do as a result of inadequacies in the beginning, middle, or end. "Searching" maintained my interest throughout.

While this story may have had its flaws here or there, I felt that LavenderSkies knew exactly what to do in each case to make up for them. The case of the 10+ battles in Las Noches for example, while I thought that it detracted from the flow of the story somewhat, I knew it was also a necessity. I really enjoyed how the battles weren't explained in great detail, but also didn't feel generalized or over simplified. The author recognized all of this.

Another example was that there was amazing consistency in the flow and direction of the story. It was a combination of various genres and nothing really stuck out to overshadow the others. The romance, for instance, was subtle yet effective, and it almost seemed like my wish was granted every time I thought of what should and shouldn't be done at certain points of the story to keep that flow. The author's notes at the beginning/end of chapters solidified this very idea of keeping things in the right tone/mood as you could say (sorry if I don't have my literary terms down).

I've only been reading Bleach fanfics for a week or two now, and I was getting kind of down by reading a lot of the same regurgitated stuff, but a story like "Searching" proves that great writing takes precedence. The basic premise can be overdone or unoriginal, but with a unique twist and a splash of creativity, you can really can really see a gem come through.

I enjoyed the relationship of the characters and loved the plot and flashbacks. Hell, I'm not even a big fan of UlqxHime, but that just didn't bother me at all in this story due to how everyone was consistently and interestingly portrayed.

I can go on and on about various aspects of the story, but I think that was the gist I wanted to let out. I am looking forward to both Glimpses and Evolve since they're next on the list from LavenderSkies (favorited ;p) apparently, and if they're anything like the quality of "Searching," I'm looking forward to them, and will be reviewing accordingly.

While it seems like I'm just being overpraising in my review, I'm just being my honest self. Since I wasn't able to review each chapter as it was released, I feel that great stories deserve somewhat thorough reviews, irregardless of completion date, and this is no exception.

this was an AMAZING story! I've always wanted to see Grimmjow and Ulquiorra in a friend-like relationship, and you've done it SO WELL! also, you captured EVERYONE'S characters PERFECTLY! Especially Orihime's. She was done best i think; the random trails of thought and the rambling, the gestures, all of it! Awesome job, i'm so glad i read this! <3 i am so favourite-ing all of this...
