Loved Will looking for her. *sigh* And their conversation was very believable, slightly sad and hopeful. These parts made me smile: "I suppose when someone who means a lot to you, gives you something... It means a lot to you too..." Djaq trailed off, feeling lost, floundering in a sea of emotions that she had never felt before. She stood there, looking at the conker, unable to think of the right words. "You mean a lot to me too" he said, the vibrations from his voice travelling through his chest. "You're beautiful" And she knew, that the next time she caught him staring, she would know he thought her beautiful. Thank you for this delightful reading. Wonderful job done. :) |

| lekopoet 2007-12-05 ch 1, | abuseMy God, I love you Will/Djaq writers! You make my soul smile!! I was semi-lost at first because I'm from the U.S. so I had no idea what a conker is. (don't worry, I looked it up, I'm good now) The only thing I could think of was a conch shell, which in my Southern accent is said more like 'conk' instead of 'conch', but I knew that didn't make sense. Anyway conch shells have a kind of phallic connotation so when Djaq was stroking and holding it, I was giggling like an idiot. However, none of that has to do with you and the story. I loved it so much! I'm in love with this ship and crave stories with it as the main focus and you have just become an enabler to my addiction! Thank you! I love that you showed Djaq as vulnerable without making it as though she was an oppressed victim in her native land like a lot of people do and which annoys me a lot. During the Middle Ages women in Islamic countries would have been actually more liberated in their daily lives than English women, though she still is a woman in a man's world and I think you illustrated that beautifully. Plus, you managed some mushy kiss-y stuff, which makes all fan-girls squee!! Thanks again! |
