I think your characaterizations for John and Carson were very true to character; reading how much our dear doc beat himself up for what he had caused, musing over not deserving forgiveness and that being his punishment, broke my very heart. Furthermore, I really enjoyed how John tried to get some sense into Carson by pointing out what he did and risked to set the Colonel back on the road to recovery. Thank you very much for writing this lovely ficlet.

Laura-trekkie 2007-12-07 ch 1,	abuseGreat story. As you say in your A/N, this wasn't about the medical stuff, wasn't about what might have been. It wasn't even really about the agony John went through to get better. That was almost a background thing, there to make Carson's part of the story that bit more hard-hitting, to drive his feelings of guilt home a bit harder as he stood there watching John suffering so much. Not to say that John's part of the story wasn't hard-hitting in its own right. It was distressing to see the catalogue of pain and weakness, not to mention his emotional responses to his appearance and his actions while he was changed. It just shows the strength he has that he had nothing but thanks for Carson, determined to do his own bit of healing a friend. The rest of the team and Elizabeth had great little scenes, too. Each one showing their unique character and having them react in ways I could so easily picture. Graet stuff.

I liked how you did it entirely from Carson's POV, that we see how John suffered from an outsider's view instead of the much more common Conversion tags from John's POV. I loved how each of his team had a part in his recovery, if only just being there for him. The end seemed a little forced, like it should have gone a bit slower, but I think I actually like it the way it is. We got so little insight into Beckett on the show, so I really loved how you went into how he felt about Sheppard and his relationship with his team. Now that I've finished having somewhat coherent thoughts...YAY! A new Conversion tag! I love it!

The episode could've done with some sort of montage showing him reverting back, and I haven't seen many other fics dealing with that, so this was cool. Also, it included Carson, so yay! Thanks :)
