You know, I've read this story many times since I first found it several months ago, and I never reviewed it...and for that, I'm sorry.

Golden Eagle (from the day Cary Bates introduced him in JLA to the day of his demise) was always, inexplicably, one of my favorite characters, and I think you've done a beautiful job continuing his short-lived legacy. I tend to agree with Dick that I just can't see him as a genius, but it ties in a lot of loose ends about...well, everything in post-Crisis DCU. I also liked that you remembered Bette. In my own AU, GE and Flamebird are a sort-of couple, but your story makes me think that they probably could have shared a mutual interest in Dick, as well as a (superficial, if nothing else) interest in each other.

Thanks for this story, and, again, sorry I didn't review earlier. This one deserves to be seen.
