This is not bad, but it's rather overly complicated and kind of messy in terms of characterization. It probably doesn't help much that I wasn't a big fan of Ranko here.

And while it's not a scathing case of Akane-bashing, it's still frustrating (especially in the chapters not available here). It ultimately feels like an excuse to scold her…and ultimately have everyone else around her who's dear to her be happy and fulfilled while she has no one and nothing but regrets to keep her company. Even if it isn't actually played that dark, that still seems to be the idea (at least through chapter 15).

But like I said, it isn't bad. I'm Akane haters and/or Kasumi and Shampoo fans have all the reason in the world to enjoy it. I'm not one of those blindly devoted Akane fans who flip out any time she doesn't end up with Ranma, but given that I consider the most "real" character in the series by a wide margin—precisely because of her flaws—I tend to care a lot about what happens to her. (I always want things to work out for her, one way or another, and not in that vague, cliché, copout sense of "eventually, she'll move on and find her own happiness" nonsense. That sort of thing is terribly lame. But I digress.)

Sorry I couldn't say I enjoyed it. But if it's ever actually completed, I'll certainly still give it a read.

The story itself is really good though, I agree this IS an altedernate universe fic. Its true Ranma DID have it rough. Real rough. But he seems to just be a more positive person otherwise her would have been able to perform that chi attack the shi shi hokodan (fueled by depression)a hell of a lot better than Ryoga and wouldn't have used the Mokatabisha (fueled by Confidence. Akane is also portrayed a little harshly, I never liked when she blamed Ranma for certain things that weren't his fault but Ranma had never been a saint either. Did you just watch the anime or did you read the manga too? In the manga Akane's real personality actually show better and she a lot nicer to Ranma in some parts of the manga than anime. But I always felt real bad for Ranma in the duration of season 1 of the anime. The story is really good, you are actually a much more talented writer than you give yourself credit for based on some of the comments you make at the end of a chapter. Its defenantly interesting and I like the Ranko character and Akane's cat curse was cool from one of your previous chapters. I also love Ranma and Akane as a couple. But really, Akane was never THAT bad, she was really sweet at time during the series. Despite that, the story is very good though sometimes I wish we saw more of Male Ranma. I like both but I'm missin the boy side too. I'll stop now, I'm probably getting annoying, but I hope you write more sometime its a really good story and I do like the way you changed somethings up. bye.

You need a bit of work on spelling but other thatn that very good and i am looking forward to more of it.

I started reading this fic yesterday, and i saw the "published" and "updated" date, and thought i would have to wait a while just for one chapter (don't get me wrong, i think it would have been worth the wait), and just one day after adding it to my story alerts, i get two new chapters!
