Bug-eyed Monster 2/23/10 . chapter 1Ha! That was good! I can just see Sherlock's surprise at his brother's marriage. I so have to check out that fic you mentioned. |
Blurgle 5/18/09 . chapter 1 This is very cute and I think it reflects Victoria's attitude toward her son in real life very well. However, and I hate to mention this: Victoria's real-life son was not known as "Edward" to anyone until after his mother died, and even then the name "Edward" was only his formal regnal name. His names were Albert Edward, and he was known to his friends and family as "Bertie". (They say he took his second name as his regnal name because there had been King Edwards before but never a King Albert; I suspect it was because he resented his father, after whom he was named and who had made him feel like a worthless fool when he was a child.) Obviously, if the fanfic or the original work calls him Edward you have to go with that, but in real life he would have never been known as "Edward" during Victoria's life, not to a single soul. Forgive me for mentioning it. |
Be3 4/16/09 . chapter 1What are the odds, indeed?.. one can't but feel a bit apprehensive, even if they didn't read CG's stories beforehand... more about mothers and sons than any Holmes - and that is really brilliant. |
Protector of the Gray Fortress 4/9/08 . chapter 1A vampire. Lol. I suppose it is the only thing that could press poor ol Mycroft out of his comfortable bohemian existence. Nicely written, I liked your characters especially, they are intrieging for the amount of time they were able to present themselves. Nice to see that queen Victoria has some compunctions as well, she never struck me as being the most benevolent of women (no offense to any brits intended). |
Chewing Gum 12/13/07 . chapter 1Because losing a card game for a wife is just too unbelieveable, vampires must be the only answer. It's a simple fact of life. As I told you previously, I adore this and, should you (or anyone else) ever feel inclined on the slightest of chances, would love to see it continued. Lord knows I'll probably end up doing a one-shot on the subject some day when I've seen LXG one too many times. |
VHunter07 12/13/07 . chapter 1Oh ROFL! That is positively too good! hehe Anne Marie is half vampire! Marvelous! I'm so glad Chewing Gum let you write it. The poor Queen! :) |
Susicar 12/13/07 . chapter 1Great idea, altough odd, i love the Mary-Ann Saga too, and you write well about her, and Victoria. Only the greats writer can produce fics-about-their-fics don't you think? Congratualtions. Ah (i can't avoid this) you think continue with this? |
