Yes he may be happy that Noah has finally come out to maddie but smiling right now will only makes things worse for him and Maddie. After Maddie leaves, then he can smile, but not b/4. The rest is very good and I like the way you keep switching POV's. It reads very well and you have the fewest number of grammatical and spelling errors that I've seen. Keep up the great work, and can't wait to read on!!
