This story is very touching, even if I know how it turns out.

Gertrude is a very interesting character, and her relationship with Reginald is moving. Your OCs fit seamlessly with the story and are complex, fascinating characters in their own right.

This is just beautiful. I adore this so much. I am up to chapter 75 in Resolving a Missunderstanding; so hope that's a good place to read this:) Lovely!

Ooh, I'm glad I didn't review this here originally, b/c now I can. After finishing RaM and now Death's Dominion it's even better, b/c certain details show up again...Reginald's hair colour and height, Gertrude's brother's name...The degree to which you plan things out is amazing, MMADfan. And yes, I do believe Albus has a bit of a crush on Trudie, and vis a versa!

I enjoyed this bit so much! I wish I had had time to read it around Christmas...it would have been so appropriate. It makes me even more sad that Reginald died the way he did...it definitely helps to know the back-story of how Gertrude and Reginald met, and explains her character a bit more. I really hope she and Malcolm stay together! These characters have become so real to me, and that is a mark of a truly great writer.

Hope you had a great Christmas and are preparing to enjoy the New Year. I just finally had the chance to read this lovely Gertie (or should I say Trudie) story. (Did I ever tell you I had a grandmother who went by Trudy? She absolutely hated the name Gertrude or Gertie). Maybe part of the reason I've come to love this character so much, but I think 99% of that is the way you've written her and slowly showed us the softer side of the "Unsentimental Arithmancer" over these last... well... how many chapters is RaM up to now? ;-) I love this story as much as I've come to love the character. Thanks so much for giving us this glimpse into her past and Albus' too. I really liked Reginald very very much! Loved the way she fell for him at such an early age and persued him in her own way. What a wonderful Holiday Gift for your readers. Thanks again!

And omg - Gertrude and Reg gave Albus the book that he gave Minerva... that's just so sweet, as it's apparent here how much it meant to him, especially over the years. Reginald is a wonderful character, you did really well with him, and it's terribly sad to know what happens in their future.

So nice to emerge on the far side of this semester and find this delightful little story! I do love little character sketches. I liked finding out a bit more about Reginald, even though it's all a bit sad, since we know what will happen. The gifts were fantastic, particularly the music box with climbing ivy, of course. Love those little tidbits. And patient, persistent Gertrude! As always, I love her as a character. I'm glad she got her Reginald after all that, for as long as she could have him.

I loved this one-shot, I sincerely hope you'll write more!

i loved this so much. it was so cute, although it did make me a bit sad because i know the end that reginald will come to. i think my favorite part was when you described everyones reactions to fawkes bursting into flames into the room, it was really quite funny. reginald seems like the perfect man, sweet and caring, and with a sense of humor. your writing was amazing, i really dont think that you could write anything poorly. cant wait until you are updating RAM again, and if you want to write any more oneshots with RAM characters. merry Christmas! and a happy new year! :)

I'm so glad she won, she's my absolute favorite character in RaM, I truly love her, she's just perfect and this fic was great, so sweet and cute and informing and wow! I'm actually in love with her history! YAY!

What a great story and I never thought I'd say that about a story centering around Gertie Gamp! :o

I love Reg and how shy and reserved he was at first and then gradually opened up and fell in love. Aw! It certainly was fun to see a different side of Gertie, the more relaxed and easy going side of her personality.

Albus is, AS ALWAYS, ADORABLE! ;D I thought it was wonderful that he sent them such an amazing wedding present. Ah, Malta...to visit there one day...dreamy sigh. And then the Christmas gifts were spectacular. I love the idea of the mirrors and especially that he gave Gertie the mirror that belonged to his mother. That was an especially nice touch.

Reg teasing Gertie about Albus having a crush on her was cute, in an odd sort of way. I do love the interaction between them and it was wonderful to see how their friendship developed over time.

In short...another FANTASTIC JOB! I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and a bright New Year!
