I read this a couple months ago, and loved it, but never really got around to reviewing. And now it's, em, a long time later and I've remembered it, and read and loved it all over again, and sent it to my friend and all, and decided that I really should review.
The idea for the fic is stupendous, and it's written beautifully. You handled the POV changes marvelously. Matsuda and Mogi were wonderfully horrified, as was Soichiro, though in a rather different way. I really liked how you didn't tell us that L was alive and everything until, well, never really. But that kept the whole mystery/secrecy/suspense/whatever all nice and flowy throughout the whole thing.
So yep. It was lovely. :D

I gotta say, since I love L so much and his whole Justice, rock on! thing, lol, I was hesitant and anxious about reading this- I didn't want to see L turned evil =(

You have such a graceful way of writing. Mysterious stuffs were brought up very cleverly. And as for the plot... Really, I like it when L and Light can get together (even though that's not like L to... , you know, become Light's partner in the Kira thing ^^)

oh, very, very interesting. ive seen a few scenarios where L accepts Raito's megalomania and even participates, but it was always from their pov. i loved the way that this was done from that of the investigation team and raito's family. it heightened the effect since so much remained unknown. it leaves the reader with a similar sense of ominous confusion to that of the characters, thus allowing for the plot holes and oddities, and leaves it up to the reader to fill them in with their own imagination. although i did wonder, when matsuda was in the basement, how exactly does a shirt and jeans inspire horror and disgust, no matter whose they are? and when mogi was looking through the window you switched to matsuda's name accidentally. but overall, this was a good fic.

Nice one. I had already expected that it would be something like this since the beggining, though I doubted it for a second when you mentioned Raito going into the darkest parts of Tokio.

This story has a great narrative tone and is refreshingly different from the norm. I totally love it!

I don't like evil L stories, because they like, ruin the whole point of Death Note. L and Kira tried to defend their own beliefs, and having L suscumb, even out of love is just unthinkatble. Poor Mogi. Disturbed then killed... I knew L was alive the moment Raito didn't want the casket open. It was just a gut feeling.

Personally, I have always believed that if either Raito or L had "changed sides", the one to do so would have been L; both are VERY stubborn characters, but whilst I think Raito genuinely acts according to his own sense of morality (disturbed and childish as it is...) during the first DN arc, L seems to be much more... Ethically-flexible? In addition, I have always believed that, whilst Raito does what he believes he HAS to do, L does what he WANTS to do. But that is my own interpretation of the characters...

All in all, it was a very enjoyable reading, since the narration flowed (when you called Mogi Matsuda a couple of times it was a bit distracting, but not enough to annoy me). So, to sum up, I am really glad I came across this fic, you are a really good writer!
