Well, from what I heard from my mom (and my grandma), apparently before the great sanitary napkins (or pads, haha.) were invented, the women of old used to wrap that area with thick linen cloths or anything absorbent enough.

Though I'm not too sure whether they do that in the Feudal era. But then again, what else could they have done?
