| Slothspieller 2007-12-29 ch 1,  | abuseThis tense conversation between Isaak and Radu indirectly revealed some of the fragility that lurks behind Dietrich's arrogant facade. Although I usually think of Radu and Dietrich as archrivals, the suggestions about their affair were believeable. After all, that infamous scene of Di using his strings on Radu in episode 13 (?) was pretty darn suggestive! Since both Di and Radu were used, they respond to the similar damage in each other and can relate to each one another in that way. In addition, Radu's unease and dread about his affair was ironically contrasted with Isaak's seeming apathy. The guillotine cigar cutter on the desk was a suitably morbid touch. Also, Isaak's cold, scientific curiousity about Radu's abilities was unsettling. I had no idea there were video games in the world of TB though... This was an unusual and psychologically fascinating story. |

I really liked the "I'd like to take you apart" line. Something I could hear Isaak saying, and a very clever way to show the character's personalities and relationships. Overall, very good story!
