Sentinel103 2008-07-01 . chapter 1Guess it may day for reviews Cap, nice nativity story. All come through in the end. I think I read this story about a dozen times. It just seems to get better.
Thanks again,

aedan cameron 2008-01-01 . chapter 1A heart warming tale. I was worried when the plane went down, but I should have know better than to fear angst from you. Christopher is a fitting name considering Mr. Kringle's short visit after the plane crash. Have a happy new year!
Thanks for the great story!

LTAOZFAN 2007-12-28 . chapter 1Captain, this is a wonderful little story! While I did notice a couple of typos, it still reads very well, and I made a printout to keep in my file of Special Stories to Reread When I Want To. This is something I believe I will read again each Christmas, just as I watch the DVD of the movie with Alastair Sim as Scrooge, and the one with that little stop-motion cartoon, "Hardrock, Koko and Joe."
The way Ron blurts out the tale of their troubles to the three men is a nice piece of writing, for it really gives the reader the sense of Ron's relief at finding somebody to help with the sitch. The puzzle about how they got out of that wrecked aircraft is also very appropriate to Yuletide, for wonderous things do seem to happen around that time of year.
But what I really like the most about this story is that it is a perfect example of Kim and Ron having an adventure that does not involve major villains, threats to world safety, or the danger of civilization collapsing. There is a tense sitch, to be sure, but things work out well, nobody gets maimed, nobody dies, and major upheavals of things in general do not take place. Such stories are enjoyable reading, particularly at this time of year, but they are also hard to write. You have done a good job, Captain Kodak, and let this naval history enthusiast offer the following accolade:
"Signalman! For Captain Kodak 1! Duff George! Hoist!"
(In the British Royal Navy the signal flags 'D' [duff] and 'G' [george] hoisted together signified 'Manuever well executed.' But the rank and file of the Royal Navy always said that the signal really meant, 'Damn Good!')

Slyrr 2007-12-27 . chapter 1Aw... now that's just too sweet for words. Not wedding cake hyper sweet, but just sweet enough to go down easy. I kinda wish I'd found it on Christmas itself, but it was still a great read. Hope you had a happy holiday! |
Mr. Wizard 2007-12-25 . chapter 1 Sweet little story. Those kids get into such trouble, even when nobody's trying to kill them.
Merry Christmas from the Wizard clan! |
 JAKT 2007-12-25 . chapter 1Captain,
As KT and I read your story this morning an old John Wayne movie came to mind. While the stories are very different we could both see a writing style worthy of that movie. Remember the 1948 "Three Godfathers"? We saw it last night and your story seemed to match that John Ford classic in so many ways.
Thanks for a marvelous Christmas tale. Wishing you and your family a most wonderful Christmas and Happiest of New Years.

Fazo the Great 2007-12-25 . chapter 1Hello Captain.
Another successful story(no surprise there). Cute, simple and romantic although it could have used some comedic relief (preferrably from Ron). Happy Holidays from a huge fan and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. |
