This story is FANTASTIC! I have fallen in lvoe with it. So many details, and such an intergret storyline. I love the way you have worked everything in together without destroy the original Sailor Moon storyline. So please oh please write some more soon! I really need to know what happens, especially with that bit at that start!

Wow, I just stumbled upon your story a few days ago and without a doubt it has got to be the single best SM fanfic I've seen. I love how all the characters are fleshed out and with the exception of a few (Sun and ChibiUsa, both understandably left out) you give every main character a chance in the spotlight as the nararator I love the subtle, complex story you give with both the mysteries and the personal character issues, all of which make sense.

I can't wait to see this mystery unravel out and find what's happening next! Hope to read more soon!

Well, I stayed up all night reading this story. And I literally mean that. I turned the lights off at 6AM. Your story was *that* addicting. I have to say that I'm incredibly glad that I stumbled upon this. It's a fascinating read with the backstory that's developing in relation with Mamoru. I have never seen "Homicide" for all that I live about forty minutes away from Baltimore. You'd think I'd know about a cop show that takes place there. Oh well, I'll look for it on Netflix.

Back to the review. This is an incredibly amazing story. The characters are all amazingly well written and you hint at all sorts of chaos throughout the story (i.e. Chibiusa's unwillingness to discuss much of the future (though there is the time stream to worry about)). You really brought up a lot of ideas that I never would have thought of regarding both the relationships amongst the Senshi and the Silver Millenium. The Outer Senshi's family dynamic is fascinating to read about. Hotaru is hormonally a teenager, but I get the feeling she's only 14 mentally about half of the time. The scene where she was fighting the Golem on her own was actually quite terrifying and I was sure for a few moments that she might actually die. Luckily that didn't happen though. But then when she went to Haruka...Oh, that was heartbreaking, but so true to the nature of a family. And as you mentioned, Haruka is barely any older than Hotaru when you think about it.

The visions and dreams of the past that you've shown are absolutely maddening because I think I've got it and then *poof* it's all gone. Nephrite was completely out of the blue though. Other things, such as Jason's connection to Mamoru and exactly what he did in the past that was traitorous (or at least that's what I'm assuming the tarot card meant) are complete mysteries to me.

One part regarding the visions and dreams that struck me was that the girls weren't the same when they were Serenity's guardians. It does make sense with the way you've put it thought. Ami was only half human, so of course she'd be different. Genetically speaking they actually shouldn't look anything like their past selves, but hey, it's a magic crystal.

Sailor Sun is definitely an interesting character, as well as Mother. I had absolutely no idea that she was connected to Mamoru's parents death before this chapter, so congratulations on surprising the heck out of me. I really do want to know exactly who the two characters are and why Mother's so ** about Usagi and Mamoru (at the moment I'm assuming she has something to do with the Moon Kingdom and also didn't like the Serenity/Endymion couple). You've crafted Sailor Sun incredibly well, without being too harsh or stereotypical. The idea that someone may have done this to her on purpose is quite frightening.

Let's see, anything else that I want to comment on? The egg. I somehow have a feeling the egg does open and Usagi just hasn't figured it out yet. And that it's probably important somewhere down the line.

To conclude this rather long review I'd like to say that I eagerly await a new installment of this captivating tale. There are so many things about this that I want to know about. Who killed Mamoru's parents? Why'd they do it? What does Mother have to do with it? Why is she seemingly immortal but doesn't seem to remember it? Did the other Shitennou have lives? (By the way, that was depressing. Incredibly depressing.) What does Jason have to do with Endymion? Were Raye and his brother together in the past? Will Jason ever see/speak to Ami again? And most importantly: Who's the Best Man in chapter one? I thought it was Motoki at the start, but with Jason in it and the fact that you never say his name, I'm second guessing myself. Probably for a good reason though.

Oh, wow, I have long loved this fic and I'm thrilled to see that you're continuing it! I actually re-read the whole thing (after first reading it a couple of years ago), and it still holds up as one of the very best Sailor Moon fics I've ever read.

It's rare that I find a mystery story that crosses anime and an American TV show like "Homicide", and even rarer that I find one that's done this well. You should be proud. This story is a rare find among the multitudes of terrible stories out there. I'm curious: did you plan the whole story out before writing?

I like Seidou's and Jason's characters - they're very realistic - and the interplay between Hotaru, Michiru, Setsuna and Haruka is well done.

I somewhat wish that you'd release more clues about Mother and Sun. I have some ideas about them, but in my opinion that's the mark of a good mystery: giving me enough to try to solve it based on the information I have.

In short: Great story, good plot, and interesting characters. I'm looking forward to more.

Ahh, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this story had been updated again! I still remember Empire of the Sun as one of the most inspirational, influential fics I've ever read. You honestly changed the way that I think and write about the characters. I missed reading this so very much, so thank you for coming back to it after so much time! I know very well what those endless breaks between chapters feel like, but I'm just glad you never gave up on it.

Another awesome chapter! I love your brand of character interaction. The detectives are so very snarky. The senshi are so full of conflicting emotions and so many highs and lows all crammed into one tiny space. I love the way that you explore all their unique characteristics, what makes them them, and what makes their senshi selves so implicitly a part of them.

And MAN are you an expert at suspense! I was totally on the edge of my seat over what Taiyouko was going to find under that bucket. The rose survives anything! What else does that tell us about Mamoru? I cannot wait to see where you go with him next! There are so many mysteries yet to be solved, so I wait with giddy anticipation to see how it all unfolds.

I've avidly read this fic years ago and am surprised by how happy I am to see an update...but then as I started reading, quickly became lost in the cast of characters! Ah, well, this just means happy re-reading and I will leave a review of substance when I get up to this chapter for real. But in any case, I am so so glad you intend to finish this story--it is possibly my favorite SM fanfic.

Never thought I would see this one update again. Lot's changed in life, but here I am all the same, eh? It is good to see an update to Empire. It's been fun re-experiencing everything after so long. Some of my memories of this story have been stronger than memories of the actual anime or manga any more. Some things are finally being made clear, though I suspect there's still a lot left to play out and I look forward to seeing what is left to be seen. Fear the turtle!
