I normally am not a fan of Severus and Hermione, but I did enjoy them as a couple in this story. I liked how you made it sound possible that Snape could have survived Voldemort's attack, and that the Slytherins actually did something besides leave, during the battle of Hogwarts. All in all, a very enjoyable story. Look forward to your next one.

I'm not sure I care for Hermione's child-raising methods-who wrote the book she's using, Dumbledore?

Again we see lots of consequences for Snape not being alive _before_ the battle. A very good chapter, too. A pity Snape was treated like dirt by the same people (including Dumbledore) whose lives he saved and whose battles he won, mind you. Maybe he'd have a stronger grasp on life. But then, I suspect I'm preaching to the converted already.

Interesting concept! I always thought the death toll would have been much higher without Snape to help keep Harry alive. However, what of _after_ the battle? What part does Severus play now? And given that the Trio couldn't be bothered to lift a finger for him, Snape does have a certain point.

Dumbledore has a lot to answer for; why is he helping now?

Just absolutely wonderful! What a great holiday read, one of the best redemption fics ever. You paint a very bleak world that would have not Severus, which is keeping with the movie.

aw! *sniffs loudly* i always get teary watching "its a wonderful life" and i did again with this. what a pleasant surprise to find an entire story waiting for me to read. i loved the entire thing!

That was probably the most wonderfully adapted rendition of "It's a Wonderful Life" I have ever read! That movie, and story, has always been one of my favorite things at Christmas, and now I have another reason for loving it! This was brilliantly done and a truly great story...thank you for the gift!

It fits perfectly with Capra's movie, and with the whole Hogwarts' scenario.

As Quiller said in the first book " Severus does seems the type eh? So useful to have him swooping around..." and no surprise that is so easy to him to believe that the majority will again put the guilt on him.

And thus is great to see in your story that the first time we saw Snape saving Harry during that famous Quidditch match was so important, so decisive: very good! I love the way you have written Harry in the scenes that counterbalance the journey of Severus through that horrible alternative universe.

The final scene, where everybody shows warming friendship to our hero is so right, he so much deserves it!

I'll write more later (today is a a particular day, you know :) but after a relaxing hour spent reading your tale at least I wish to send my thank you without further delay.

What a lovely Christmas present for more than just the two who inspired the story. This plot is tailor-made for Severus, who really needed to see what his sacrifices accomplished. This is going in my favorites so that I can savor it again later.
