| Christy January 2008-06-19 ch 1, | abuseSo...I finally got around to reading this and need I say that I am an idiot for waiting. I think it was that little word-Darcy-that kept me away. But I am on a Peter high and have thus been snatching up anything non Pemma I can find. There isn't much, so naturally I came looking for this. There's just something about Peter that draws me in. Even back in early S5 when he was little more than an ass in preppy clothes I liked him. The potential that the writers continue to overlook in favor of making him 'the boyfriend' needs desperately to be explored. Okay, so this is supposed to be a review, not an essay. Sorry. I love the way you write Peter and Mia, and even Darcy. You managed to make her sympathetic instead of grating and that is quite a fete. I feel like we got blindsided with Parcy so seeing a realistic take on them is like a band-aid for what the writers force on us. And Mia, well, she gets a bad rap because of JT and I like the somewhat snarky side of her you brought out. Very nicely done. Going on the favs list. Yikes. I'm sure to get the rambling review award this week, huh? |

| pixiestix16 2007-12-27 ch 1, | abusethis is going to be sort of a weird review, as i'm writing as i read. so, here goes my heapings upon heapings of praise: love the bit about the odd-shaped muffins - a nice touch. actually, i think i like peter best so far. the way you write him is... really freaking good. i don't really know how to evaluate it, quantify or qualify it... it's jsut very... peter in the best (or, depending on how you look at it, worst) way possible. it's so incredibly real and fitting for him. it matches seamlessly. i also like how you explain the peter/emma thing it always sort of seemed like that to me - a ridiculous, impossible idea that the writers put in because, well, why not? but it jsut didn't match, it was so clearly inept and uncomfortable. love the part about peter being in trouble. how very true. and most definitely exploadable (there's another, less-awkward word for that, but i can't remember it). it's dangerous and funa dn you illistrated to perfection. ha, darcy is way more fun as a jesus-resistor. i like bad darcy, she's a helluva lot more interesting. the missing-limb thing is so true, you nailed it with that metaphore. and the perter/darcy banter is jsut hilarious and... great? i dunno, it's needed and teh need it met with perfection. but then again, peter/mia banter is pretty good too. hell, maybe it's all peter. he's a fun character to play with, lots of facets. like the herr joke and the taking advantage line. ah, darcy calling peter a bastard. my life is complete. god, you've really made this hard for me. i have absolutely no clue who i like better, darcy adn peter or mia and peter. and, by some miracle, you've made it so i not only don't hate peter's nearly-cheating guts, but i actually like him. god, it's all so confusing. and unfortunately real. you've captured the grays, instead of jsut a steady stream of black versus white. i think that's what makes me love this story above all - it's not one thing or the other. it considers everything equally, taking no side, and not letting anyone judge... it's the "push and pull and stuck in the middle but almost likeing it" feel of life that pulls the reader in. this story is wise without even knowing it. |
| Cherie Dennis 2007-12-26 ch 1, | abuseVery awesome story. I love how you involved three totally different people and view points and me this wonderfully amazing one shot. And I love how you started out with pieces of the past and wove them into the present/future. I love the ending, too. Open enough for a sequel, or for people's minds to create what they want, and yet not too open to the point where it feels like it didn't end. There were a few grammar issues, but the writing was wonderful. Good job! |
