Very nice sis! However crazy dad sounded, you really have started a great story with it. The writing is great (no surprise there) and i cannot wait for updates!

I personally like it in first person, but try not to give away all the facts all at once. As for the name, i cannot help you. I really can never think up any names for my characters, but i strongly suggest google. it is the answer to any problem.

This is great so far, if a little angsty, but good nontheless! I think you should put it in 3rd so that the readers don't know EVERYTHING! As for the name...how about Alexia, or Alexandra, or some other name dervied from Alexander, if she turns out to be the next savior, her name should reflect that, and that name means defender of mankind, and is supposed to be a REALLY powerful name!

I loved this first chapter. It's a very interesting take on the HP series. I'd say if you can keep writing this well, stick to first person. If you plan on switching viewpoints, I'd go with third. For some reason it's easier to switch views, reading them anyways, in third.
As for name suggestions: Isabelle, Kaylie, Siri Anne(Anne for the middle name and wonder why Siri? I think it's cute for a girl), Jamie, Caroline, and Alexia. I don't like seeing Lily a lot, unless it's a little girl with Ginny's red hair and Lily's green eyes and I like all of those names with Potter or Granger.
Either way, I have a feeling I'll love this story. I'm really excited to see where you go with it and can't wait for an update.
